Dan Crenshaw claps back at critics with the reason why he missed recent votes: ‘Simply more important’

Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-Texas) hammered political activist and failed congressional candidate Laura Loomer for “toxic trolling” after she criticized him for missing early votes in the new 118th Congress on Saturday while he attended the funeral of a fellow Navy SEAL.

“BREAKING: RINO GOP Rep @DanCrenshawTX was the ONLY Republican who skipped the vote today on the vote to Establish a Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government. He also skipped the Rules Package vote. Looks like Dan is not showing up for work on purpose,” Loomer tweeted.

“Yes, Laura, it was on purpose,” Crenshaw shot back Wednesday afternoon. “I flew to San Diego for a funeral for a friend and active duty SEAL.”

“Kindly delete your toxic and obsessive trolling if you don’t mind,” he bluntly added.

Loomer is no wallflower and has previously been banned from Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Uber, and PayPal, which she wears as a badge of honor these days. She has not deleted the post.

She doubled down on attacking Crenshaw instead of backing off.

“With all due respect, as a U.S. Congressman, you don’t have the luxury of skipping work for sick days, funerals, or days off. You were elected to be the voice of your constituents & when you miss votes, they don’t have a voice. Holding elected officials accountable isn’t ‘toxic,'” Loomer tweeted.

“I won’t be deleting my tweet either. I’m doubling down, @DanCrenshawTX,” she added.

Loomer would go on to tweet, “Congressman, In the future, how will you ensure that your constituents get full representation when you decide to skip votes? You have a history & pattern of skipping votes. How will you ensure that your constituents have their voices heard during votes if you don’t show up?”

She also took a swipe at Crenshaw’s staff.

“Alex—any serious journalist or constituent who reached out about Dan’s absence were informed. A personal matter isn’t something you put a press release on your website about. You’re just a obsessive twitter troll who tweeted assumptions before verifying facts,” Crenshaw’s Communications Director Kara Zupkus replied in response to a question from Twitter user Alex Bruesewitz over the congressman’s absence.

“Why are @DanCrenshawTX’s staff so narcissistic and elitist? ‘Any serious journalist or constituent’. Uh, Dan is a U.S. lawmaker. We the taxpayers pay his inflated salary each year while he skips work. It is OUR RIGHT to know where he is when he’s getting paid by our tax $!” Loomer responded.

Others also attacked Crenshaw for his failure to vote on the new rules package that pushes investigating the weaponization of the federal government under the Biden administration.

“I missed some votes this week on account of a funeral in San Diego for my friend and fellow SEAL. Being with my brothers was simply more important,” Crenshaw noted to Alex Bruesewitz. “Thankful that my obsessive trolls on Twitter noticed my brief absence.”

It is believed that Crenshaw was attending the funeral of Cmdr. Robert Ramirez III in San Diego on Tuesday, according to the Daily Mail.

Ramirez took command of SEAL Team 1 in November, having arrived at the unit in June. He was awarded three Combat Action Ribbons for his service in both Iraq and Afghanistan. He also had five Bronze Star Medals, two with the Combat ‘V’ acknowledging valor and acts of heroism.

The commander was found in his home after taking his life.

Following the funeral, Crenshaw returned to DC to vote in favor of the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which provides legal protections to any infant born alive after an attempted abortion.

It passed 220-210 with almost all Democrats unthinkably voting against it, according to Fox News.

“Tonight we voted on the Born Alive Act. It is utterly non-controversial to every normal person, but a hard NO from nearly every Democrat in Congress. That’s crazy. The Democrats are far too extreme on this issue and NOT in line with the American people. At all.,” Crenshaw tweeted Wednesday afternoon.

The Born Alive Act protects babies born alive after an attempted abortion. This makes it REQUIRED for health care workers to give survivors the same medical care as any other baby in order to save the child’s life. This should be very simple: They deserve to live,” he added.
