President Joe Biden is taking his case for reelection directly to his supporters and he vowed that he’s not quitting the race in a defiant speech to an adoring crowd in Detroit.
On Friday, the embattled octogenarian traveled to the key battleground state of Michigan which he’s going to have to win to stay in power, a daunting task with the state’s Muslim voters furious about Israel’s war on Hamas in Gaza and an ongoing Democrat palace coup to oust him as the party’s nominee.

“We’re going to stand up for our Constitution and save our democracy!” Biden ranted, returning to his silly spiel that “our democracy” is threatened by former President Donald J. Trump, a big lie that hasn’t helped him with voters who care about real issues affecting their lives, like inflation.
“You probably noticed there is a lot of speculation lately,” Biden told his adoring audience. “‘What is Joe Biden going to do? Is he going to stay in the race? Is going to drop out?’ I am running and we’re going to win.”
Biden cited a cherry-picked poll commissioned by state media outlets NPR and PBS News showing him ahead of Trump after his disastrous CNN debate performance.
“The narrative that my campaign has fallen apart, they say,” Biden said. “I’m the nominee of the Democratic Party, the only Democrat or Republican who has beaten Donald Trump, ever. I’m going to beat him again.” Biden vowed, adding, “I know him, Donald Trump is a loser.”
He also railed against Project 2025, the latest in a long line of Democrat hoaxes, this one vastly overblowing a standard set of presidential policy recommendations from the conservative Heritage Foundation into something dark and nefarious.
Project 2025 is deadly serious.
America needs to wake up and realize what Trump and MAGA Republicans are trying to do.

“I’m the nominee of this party because 14 million Democrats like you voted for me in the primaries. You made me the nominee, no one else. Not the press, not the pundits, not the insiders, not donors – you to voters. You decided, no one else and I’m not going anywhere,” Biden told the crowd, laughably portraying himself – a 50-year D.C. swamp dweller – as an outsider.
It was cranky Joe the demagogue at his finest, a completely different man than the one on the CNN debate stage two weeks ago.
But some influential Michiganders seem to have lost their taste for the Biden Kool-Aid, most notably Governor Gretchen Whitmer who snubbed the reeling incumbent.
“Americans want a president, not a dictator,” Biden later said on X, hypocrisy of the highest degree from a man who’s trying to have his election opponent thrown into prison.
Americans want a president, not a dictator.

Biden’s speech to the Michigan faithful comes the day after his heavily-hyped “big boy” press conference in which he took scripted questions, referred to running mate Kamala Harris as “Vice President Trump” and fumbled his way through the event which doesn’t look to be the game-changer that his handlers hoped it to be.
