All it took was Iran downing two United States fighter jets for Democrats to start crying that they are “winning the war.”
The left so badly wants President Donald Trump’s military action in Iran to fail that they are grasping at straws to push their narrative. On Friday, Rep. Seth Moulton, D-Mass., took advantage of the downing of an F-15E fighter jet and an A-10 Warthog attack plane to declare that Iran “is gaining leverage over us.”
Watch:
“I mean, obviously, we’re focused on doing everything we can to recover the missing personnel. But the reaction is that Iran is gaining leverage over us as this war goes on. And I’ve been saying for over a week that Iran is winning the war,” Moulton said.
“We’ve had a bunch of tactical successes, taking out various military equipment. They’ve had a strategic win closing the Strait of Hormuz, which the president of the United States is begging our biggest adversary in the world, China, to help him open up. And now, just a day after he told the entire world, all the American people, that they had successfully taken out all of Iran’s anti-aircraft capability, they’ve shot not just one, but two aircraft out of the sky. So obviously, Trump is way in over his head. He has no idea what he’s doing, and he’s lying to us once again,” the lawmaker added.
For reference, a Department of War fact sheet indicates that the United States has struck 12,300+ targets across over 13,000 combat flights, accounting for more than 155 Iranian vessels being damaged or destroyed. Yet somehow, people are supposed to believe that two downed aircraft and a closed Strait of Hormuz mean that Iran is “winning the war.”
Operation Epic Fury has struck targets such as:
- Command and Control Centers
- IRGC Headquarters Buildings
- IRGC Intelligence Sites
- Integrated Air Defense Systems
- Ballistic Missile Sites
- Iranian Navy Ships & Submarines
- Iranian Air Defense Systems
- Anti-ship Missile Sites
- Military Communication Capabilities
- Ballistic Missile & Drone Manufacturing
- Weapons Production & Storage Bunkers
- Surface-to-Air Missile Facilities
- Military support Infrastructure
These are locations and resources that are critical to dismantling the military capabilities of the IRGC and pose an “imminent threat” according to the fact sheet.
Meanwhile, some people are betting on whether the missing service member who ejected from the F-15E will be found alive or dead. Moulton called out this behavior in an X post, and naturally didn’t miss an opportunity to tie it back to Trump’s son, Don Jr.
There is an ongoing search and rescue operation for a missing American service member whose plane was shot down over Iran. Their safety is unknown.
They could be your neighbor, a friend, a family member. And people are betting on whether or not they’ll be saved.

Quick reminder too that [Don Jr.]Â is an investor in this dystopian death market and may have access to intelligence that isn’t public yet,” he wrote.
