Dem lawmaker has incredible take on why black voters are turning away from Biden

A newly released poll is terrible news for President Joe Biden who would lose five of six swing states to Donald J. Trump if the election was held today but worse was an even more alarming number, black voters aren’t falling in line as usual and one Democrat lawmaker had a unique explanation for why.

In polling from the New York Times and Siena College, Biden’s numbers may be dismal but in a much greater problem for the race-baiting career politician, blacks are climbing onboard the Trump train in unprecedented numbers, a development that could signal a trend that the one demographic that is absolutely critical to the party’s hold on political power may be waking up that Democrats don’t have their best interests at heart.

On Sunday’s edition of CNN’s “State of the Union.” Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) joined anchor Dana Bash and the panel as they dissected the grim numbers for Biden’s reelection hopes and her incredible take seemed to be that black people aren’t smart enough to know what’s good for them.

“Here’s the deal,” Crockett said. “Perception is reality, and so when you look at the data that was provided in this poll, it talks about how people feel, and when people decide whether they’re going to the poll or not going to the poll it’s all about how you feel in that moment, and so while the facts may not align with their feelings, their feelings are dictating their reality.”

She continued, “Their reality is that they said that they feel better or they felt better when Trump was in office. But we’ve been trying to push back. We’ve got some very popular African-American artists that are out here saying things like ‘oh, I got checks when Trump was in office, and I want those checks again,’ not understanding that they really came from Congress.”

“So we’ve got a couple of things the perception issue, and then we also have an issue as it relates to civics in this country and people not understanding exactly how any of this works,” Crockett concluded.

While the congresswoman – who has a proclivity for loopiness – may not have meant it the way that it sounded, people on X, formerly Twitter, got the message loud and clear.

According to the New York Times, “Black voters — long a bulwark for Democrats and for Mr. Biden — are now registering 22 percent support in these states for Mr. Trump, a level unseen in presidential politics for a Republican in modern times.”
