Pennsylvania Democrat Rep. Chrissy Houlahan has introduced a resolution to censure Rep. Lauren Boebert over her comments about Rep. Al Green.
As BizPac Review previously reported, Boebert spoke to Real America’s Voice about President Donald Trump’s congressional address and specifically about Green’s outburst that led to him being escorted out of the chamber. During her description of the events that took place, she said the Democrat had shaken his “pimp cane” at the president.
“And even you had some folks on the left trying to come out early and defend this behavior and compare it to an image of Marjorie Taylor Greene and myself, who were chanting ‘Build the wall’ while all other Republicans were chanting the same phrase. And they just got that one image and acted like we completely disrupted the State of the Union. But Al Green was given multiple opportunities to stand down, to sit down, to behave, to show decorum. And he did not,” Boebert said during her interview.
“[F]or him to go and shake his pimp cane at President Trump was absolutely abhorrent,” she added later in the clip.
Houlahan took exception to the use of language, which she says is “a breach of proper conduct.”
“I did indeed have a heated conversation with Speaker Johnson on the House floor after I voted yes to censure my colleague,” the representative wrote in an X post. “I called Speaker Johnson out on his and his party’s hypocrisy and reminded him of the many instances in which Republicans have blatantly broken the rules of conduct without consequence. He told me if he punished each instance, he’d have to censure half the House. I suggested he do just that. Rules are rules.”
