Dem senator threatens business leaders cozying up to Trump: ‘We’re going to break up your companies’

Congressional Democrats have officially begun threatening companies and businesses with punishment for playing nice with President Donald Trump.

“Once we take power, whoever the president is, we’re going to break up your companies,” Sen. Ruben Gallego told Semafor for a report that was published on Friday.

“So all the investment you did to create these mergers are going to be for naught. Your investors are going to be pissed at you, and you’re likely going to end up getting fired as the CEO because you wasted so much money and corrupted yourself in the process,” he added.

He later added the following via social media:

His position is that any business that has played nice with the current president of the United States is in some way corrupt.

It’s the same position maintained by former Obama- and Biden-administration official Susan Rice, who, too, has threatened corporations if Democrats regain power.

She issued her threat while speaking on former U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara’s podcast earlier this month.

“When it comes to the elites, the corporate interests, the law firms, the universities, the media … it is not going to end well for them,” she said. “For those that decided that they would act in their perceived very narrow self-interest, which I would underscore as very short-term self-interest, and take a knee to Trump, I think they’re now starting to realize, wait a minute, this is not popular.”

“Trump is not popular. What he is doing, whether on the economy and affordability or on immigration now, is not popular, and … there is likely [going] to be a swing in the other direction. And they are going to be caught with more than their pants down. They’re going to be held accountable by those who come in opposition to Trump and win at the ballot box,” she added.

Trump’s reelection to office has coincided with corporations changing their attitude and becoming increasingly less “woke,” much to the chagrin of “woke” Democrats.

“And I can tell you, as I talk to leaders in Washington, leaders in our party, leaders in the states, if these corporations think that the Democrats, when they come back in power, are going to play by the old rules and say, oh, never mind, we’ll forgive you for all the people you’ve fired, all the policies and principles you’ve violated, all the laws you’ve skirted, I think they’ve got another thing coming,” Rice continued.

“Because just like when Trump thought, OK, I’ll redistrict and the Democrats won’t have the guts to play hardball, they’re going to be surprised. Democrats have had a bellyful, and we’re not going to play by the old set of rules when these guys are playing by a very different set of rules. We’re going to play by the law, but we’re not going to violate the law the way they do. But we’re not going to be suckers,” she added.

Who will be their first targets?

“Judiciary Committee Democrats have [already] sent missives since last year to Paramount, Hewlett-Packard and Alphabet, and Oversight Committee Democrats have homed in on fundraising for the White House’s ballroom renovation,” according to Semafor.

Paramount is particularly important because it’s owned by a Trump ally and because it’s about to take over Warner Bros. Discovery, the parent company of traditionally left-wing outlets like CNN and CBS. Democrats and their unscrupulous media allies are horrified by this prospect.

“Fears are running high among staffers at CNN … after parent Warner Bros. Discovery reversed a decision to sell its streaming and studio assets to Netflix and instead packaged the whole company for Paramount Skydance,” Variety magazine reported on Friday.
