Democrats face backlash for leaving Biden out of Easter ‘better times’ post

An Easter message about “better times” at the White House sparked a wave of backlash against Democrats for “skipping over” former President Joe Biden.

The official Democratic Party social media account on X shared a post on Saturday captioned, “Better times at the White House,” and featured former President Barack Obama. The image showed the Washington Monument in the background as Obama and an Easter bunny-costumed person stood looking on.

But the nostalgic look back at the Obama White House backfired online, with X users demanding to know why there was no mention of Biden, either as Obama’s vice president for 8 years or as president himself.

Fox News Digital columnist David Marcus was among many X users who commented on the “brutal smack down of Joe Biden,” as the post deliberately bypassed the 46th president.

Others also questioned the omission.

Many X users responded by sharing photos of Biden’s Easter bunny encounters, which went viral at the time.

The Democratic Party post followed one from California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s press office, which also ignited a wave of criticism for posting an image of Obama with a message for users to repost “if you miss having a President with a functioning brain.”
