Democrats finally figure out that walls work, add extra security outside convention

Democrats have been arguing for years that a border wall would do nothing to bolster the security of the United States, but apparently walls around their convention work just fine.

CNN reported that additional security fencing was being erected outside the Democratic National Convention after protesters had breached the previous barrier, leading to security concerns. Naturally, this tickled conservatives who couldn’t help but notice the irony of the situation.

Watch:

The Associated Press noted that the pro-Gaza protesters were “mostly peaceful” but a “few dozen who broke away tore down pieces of the security fence,” leading to additional security.

“Several protesters who had managed to get through the fence were detained and handcuffed by the police,” the outlet reported. “Officers put on gas masks as some protesters tried to bring down a second fence set up in front of police. Authorities said the inner security perimeter surrounding the convention site was not breached and there was no threat to those attending the convention.”

The situation mirrored the 1968 Chicago convention when anti-Vietnam protesters made their voices heard outside that year’s DNC.
