The left’s response to the president’s State of the Union found one newspaper’s editorial board calling on Republicans in the midterms to leverage the “madness” that their rivals “truly stand for.”
Elected Democrats and their allies, it would seem, never fail to skip an opportunity to unleash their Trump Derangement Syndrome, and Tuesday — before, during, and after President Donald Trump’s address — was no different. Looking especially toward the circus act that was the concurrent “State of the Swamp” rally, the New York Post Editorial Board made the case that the “party’s true heart was on display,” and they weren’t shy about their plans should they reclaim control of Congress.
A conglomeration of Hollywood elitists and the wannabe theater kids, who turned to politics for lack of the needed je ne sais quoi to make it in Tinseltown, the Post argued that the event’s host, Defiance.org, was “revving up the old #Resistance machine and studying their old playbook for ideas.”
Hardly a secret given both the constant demonization of the president and two previous impeachments, a number of speakers promoted the need for Democrats to run the same play again, including former Montana Sen. Jon Tester and CNN legal analyst Norm Eisen, “the longtime Clinton fixer” who acted as co-counsel for the first impeachment of Trump.
“There’s one thing Democrats have to do next year when they take over the House and Senate,” said Tester, “and that’s impeach the son-of-a-bitch!”
“The Defiance crew,” which also included Virginia Rep. Eugene Vindman and New York Rep. Dan Goldman, “are all but announcing their plans for a Democratic majority,” argued the editorial board, “Any effort to actually do the people’s business will be back-burned [in’ favor of endless bogus hearings to bolster fresh articles of impeachment — the specific accusations to be manufactured when they’re needed, as with Vindman’s 2019 ‘whistleblowing.'”
Elsewhere, in the event that featured the former minority leader of the Georgia House of Representatives, failed gubernatorial candidate, and “Star Trek: Discovery” President of United Earth, Stacey Abrams, as well as Mark Ruffalo, Robert De Niro, numerous other lawmakers and people in frog costumes, the Epstein files were continuously harped on despite Democrat inaction on their release.
Additionally, one of the most telling moments of Trump’s speech — when he challenged Congress to stand if they agreed their “first duty … is to protect American citizens, not illegal aliens,” which earned a dismal response from Democrats — was readily juxtaposed by a chant of “F*ck ICE” at the alternative rally.
A telling moment from tonight’s SOTU…
Dems refuse to stand after Trump asks anyone to get up if they believe in the statement “The first duty of the American government is to protect American citizens, not illegal aliens.”

“This is what the heart of today’s Democratic Party is all about: Chaos in the streets plus obstruction and conspiracy theories in Congress — all in the name of supposedly preserving ‘our democracy,'” concluded the editorial board. “It’s every Republican candidate’s job to ensure voters see that this madness is what their opponents truly stand for.”
