Dems simmer in a stew of impotent rage after Justice Alito scoffs at their authority

Democrats have spent months beating up on the Supreme Court’s conservative majority and they howled in anger after one of the justices who has been the target of their attacks punched back with a reminder that the nation’s highest court is a co-equal branch of the federal government.

Justice Samuel Alito scoffed at the perceived authority of the rabid left-wing radicals who now control the Democrat wing of Congress and who have been clamoring to impose their own punitive code of ethics on the justices, relentlessly smearing Justice Clarence Thomas while turning a blind eye to the conflicts of interest of the liberal justices, effectively kicking the hornet’s nest in telling the leftist lawmakers to pound sand.

In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Alito addressed the hit pieces that have been churned out against him. “I marvel at all the nonsense that has been written about me in the last year,” he said, adding, “ the traditional idea about how judges and justices should behave is they should be mute,” with others usually rising to defend the judiciary. “But that’s just not happening. And so at a certain point, I’ve said to myself, nobody else is going to do this, so I have to defend myself.”

The George W. Bush appointee also scoffed at Democrats and their efforts to bully the court’s conservatives.

“Congress did not create the Supreme Court,” Alito told the outlet. “I know this is a controversial view, but I’m willing to say it,” he added. “No provision in the Constitution gives them the authority to regulate the Supreme Court—period.”

Asked if the other judges hold similar views, he said, “I don’t know that any of my colleagues have spoken about it publicly, so I don’t think I should say. But I think it is something we have all thought about.”

To say that Justice Alito’s defiant remarks didn’t sit well with the court’s Democrat antagonists would be a monumental understatement.

“Alito’s next opinion piece in the WSJ is about to be ‘I am a little king, actually. The Constitution doesn’t explicitly say I’m not,’” fumed the queen of the “Squad,” Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

“Let’s translate these statements from Justice Alito, real quick: What we do and how we do it, who pays for our trips and our vacations, or a family member’s tuition, is none of your damn business. So buzz off,” raged Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), the recently censured serial liar and conspiracy monger, demanding “They need an enforceable code of ethics. Now.”

Schiff’s high strung California colleague, Rep. Ted Lieu (D-CA) floated a not thinly veiled threat of impeachment which will be a tall order in a House that his party no longer controls.

“Dear Justice Alito: You’re on the Supreme Court in part because Congress expanded the Court to 9 Justices. Congress can impeach Justices and can in many cases strip the Court of jurisdiction. Congress has always regulated you and will continue to do so. You are not above the law,” Lieu raved.

“Justice Alito has no business policing women’s private medical decisions,” tweeted Sen. Tina Smith (D-MN), a former vice president with Planned Parenthood, hardly an unbiased voice who seems to have an ax to grind with Alito over a certain recent SCOTUS decision.

“This view is more than controversial; it’s incorrect. This is coming from a justice who tried to hide the fact that he accepted luxury vacations on private jets,” Ranted Rep. Katie Porter (D-CA) who it was accused of abusing her husband, including allegedly dumping a pot of mashed potatoes on his head. “As a government official, I welcome the American people holding me accountable—why doesn’t Justice Alito?”

Also expressing his discontent was law professor Laurence Tribe, the left-wing ideologue who has lent his intellectual gravitas to some of the Democrats’ most radical schemes, such as the use of the 14th Amendment to get rid of the debt ceiling, an idea so extreme that even President Joe Biden declined to pursue it.

“The man has gone off the deep end. Period,” Tribe said, something that more than a few people might be inclined to suggest that he knows a thing or two about.

The impotent fury will continue to pour out of Democrats but elections have consequences and no matter what they do to former President Donald J. Trump, his term will forever be remembered for swinging the balance of the court to the right and shoring up the only remaining bulwark protecting America from the left-wing extremists.
