Former President Donald Trump’s recent offensive against the condition of Florida under Gov. Ron DeSantis’ leadership inspired an offer from the governor’s supporters to help relocate the president to somewhere they felt his campaign would “fit right in.”
Trump has been unrelenting in his targeting of DeSantis, viewed by many as the most likely potential candidate to have a chance to surpass the president in garnering the 2024 Republican nomination. The same can now be said for the aptly-named Never Back Down Political Action Committee as they strive to hold the former commander-in-chief to his record.
That included calling out the president for his apparent favor of California Gov. Gavin Newsom as likened to his distaste for “DeSanctimonious,” prompting the PAC to offer Trump help relocating.
“Never Back Down announces we are offering Trump financial assistance to help him leave Florida and move to his beloved California, so he can be close to his good buddy @GavinNewsom, whom he loves so intensely and gets along with so well,” the DeSantis supporting group tweeted.

In his own words, Never Back Down PAC CEO Chris Jankowski added, “Donald Trump has so deeply disparaged the state of Florida by calling it the ‘worst state,’ …The good news is that since so many people are moving to the state of Florida, thanks to the incredible success of Governor Ron DeSantis, no one will notice when Trump leaves. The state of Florida will be better off when Trump takes his Soros-fueled, dumpster fire of a campaign to San Francisco, where it will fit right in.”
Jankowski’s comment made reference to a specific statement released by Trump Friday that rattled off reasons “Florida has become among the worst states…” that included links to various ratings that compared the Sunshine State to the rest of the country on education, healthcare and economics without elaborating on how those positions were determined.
Additionally, it noted Trump’s April 12 appearance on “Tucker Carlson Tonight” where, as previously reported, the president had recounted to Carlson how Newsom was “always very nice to me, said the greatest things. He would say things like, ‘He’s doing a great job,'” and so, “I could never hit him because he was so nice to me…”

Notably, the PAC also shared a supercut of comments from Trump addressing the performance of DeSantis as governor where he repeatedly pointed out the “great,” “terrific” and “spectacular job” being done in Florida with one statement that read, “One of the greatest governors in our country–and I know a lot of good ones, and I can tell you there are some really bad ones too–but this is a great one: Governor Ron DeSantis.”

It remains to be seen when DeSantis will make his announcement about the 2024 election, but should he throw his hat in, he will join at least former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley, businessman Vivek Ramaswamy, former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson and conservative commentator Larry Elder in seeking to surpass Trump.
