DeSantis PAC temporarily suspended by X hours before debate, point fingers at Trump-backed accounts

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ “Never Back Down” PAC was briefly suspended on X by mistake Wednesday just hours before the Republican primary debate, prompting claims that it may have been targeted.

The Never Back Down PAC’s account, @nvrbackdown24, was suspended early Wednesday morning and was reported by Strategic Communications Director Matt Wolking. It was allegedly down for less than an hour.

Wolking believes that pro-Trump accounts “engaged in mass reporting” against the PAC, a common practice used by leftists.

“X says it ‘seems like our automated systems incorrectly picked it up as ‘spam.” We have asked X to tell us who exactly reported @NvrBackDown24 as spam,” Wolking noted via his personal account on X.

Wolking included in his tweets screenshots of a number of X accounts connected to former President Trump that were gleefully celebrating the account being banned.

Given their celebration, we have asked @X @elonmusk to disclose whether these Trump-backed accounts and their affiliated bot network have recently engaged in mass reporting against the @NvrBackDown24 account in order to manipulate X’s rules,” he stated.

Christina Pushaw, who is the rapid response director for DeSantis’ campaign, also speculated that pro-Trump accounts were responsible for the suspension.

“BEYOND PARODY The same trolls who cry nonstop when they’re censored on social media… are cheering for their opponents to be censored on social media,” she charged.

“This is a well-worn Left Liberal tactic: When you can’t defeat your opponents in a debate, you hide in the basement and try to silence your opponents. If it’s true that Republicans are doing this now, shame on them,” Pushaw asserted.

“While our follower count has not yet been fully restored, we appear to be back. Follow Never Back Down to get the facts the Trump campaign doesn’t want you to see! We are hoping to receive more details about the cause of this suspension on debate day, @elonmusk. Please,” Never Back Down tweeted shortly before noon Wednesday.

The suspension came just hours before the GOP debate and the scheduled release on the platform of a pre-recorded interview of Trump by former Fox News host Tucker Carlson.

DeSantis supporters and other conservatives want to know why the account went down and who was behind it:
