DeSantis promises ‘no cocaine’ in his WH if elected: ‘My son’s only five … not going to be lining his pockets’

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis promised on Friday that no cocaine will be allowed in the White House if he’s elected president.

The joke-making Republican presidential candidate offered up the quip while speaking at the 2023 Lincoln Dinner, an event hosted in Des Moines by the Republican Party of Iowa.

Hello, Iowa. Are you ready to send Joe Biden back to his basement in Delaware on a permanent vacation? I can promise you this: In my White House, there will be no cocaine allowed in the White House,” he said.

And look, my son’s only five years old, so he’s not going to be lining his pockets with money from foreign governments, so don’t worry about that,” he added.

Listen:

As previously reported, earlier this month the Secret Service found a small plastic bag containing cocaine inside the White House.

Because the cocaine was discovered as the first family was vacationing at Camp David, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was, when asked at the time whether a Biden family member owned the cocaine, adamant that it was someone else’s.

“As you know — and the media outlets reported this — the Biden family was not here. They were not here,” she said.

“They were at Camp David. They were not here Friday. They were not here Saturday. They were not here Sunday. They were not even here Monday. They came back on Tuesday. So to ask that question is actually incredibly irresponsible. And I’ll just leave it there,” she added.

The problem is that multiple pool reports contradicted her claim, starting with one from Politico.

“Poolers saw Jill Biden, Baby Beau [the president’s grandson] and Hunter Biden climb into presidential SUV. President Biden followed a few minutes later. Motorcade rolling to Fort McNair as of 6:34p,” Politico’s pool report read.

Fox News’ pool report read similarly.

“White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre’s claim that no members of the Biden family were present at the White House in the days leading to the discovery of a bag of cocaine in the West Wing has been contradicted by the Fox News press pool report on one of those very days,” according to Fox News.

“According to the Friday, June 30 pool report, Biden gave remarks in the Roosevelt Room that afternoon, and didn’t depart the White House for Camp David until 6:34 p.m., along with First Lady Jill Biden, Hunter Biden, and Hunter’s son Beau Biden,” Fox News reported at the time.

Plus, even if the Bidens weren’t at the White House at the precise moment the cocaine was found, many contended that this didn’t mean that the cocaine wasn’t theirs.

The belief by most critics is that President Joe Biden’s son Hunter, a longtime drug abuser, is the cocaine’s true owner:

The problem is nobody will ever know for certain because the Secret Service has conveniently already concluded its investigation with no resolution.

“The Secret Service investigation has concluded with no usable forensic or video evidence identifying the person responsible, three Secret Service officials familiar with the investigation said,” NBC News reported on the 13th.

“The small plastic baggie with a powdered substance — which was found in a storage cubby at the White House on a Sunday evening this month — was subjected to advanced testing and examined at two federal labs, but no usable fingerprints or DNA were detected, the officials said,” the outlet added.

Congressional Republicans have for their part vowed to finish the investigation themselves:
