The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has released an extensive report documenting, among other things, how numerous young children were pressured into transitioning their gender.
Called “Wolves in White Coats,” the report talks about folks like Luke Healy, who was only 10 years old when he stumbled on an online community of transgender adults. Within three years, he became convinced he was a girl.
When Healy told his parents, they naturally sought help from Kaiser Permanente. There was just one problem: Every institutional figure they turned to, including counselors and medical providers, took his desire to be a girl seriously and “moved quickly to affirm it.”
“He says adults around him framed his discomfort with his masculinity and adolescence as proof that he was female,” according to the report.

Thankfully, his parents refused their recommendation that he be placed on puberty blockers and hormones. Once he turned 18, however, Healy sought gender transition services on his own. The problem this time was that the services he received didn’t make him feel any happier.
Over time, Healy began to realize that he was being treated as a potential customer instead of as a human being.
“Luke says one doctor quoted him approximately $200,000 for facial feminization surgery,” the report reads. “Another, he says, spoke to him like a car salesman while encouraging tracheal shave. Luke came to realize he was being sold procedures, not psychological help.”
The report also mentions Soren Aldaco, who too got caught up in online transgender discourse before suddenly deciding that she was a boy and needed to be placed on testosterone.
“Multiple providers attended to her,” the report notes. “These included a therapist, prescribing clinicians, and surgical teams. The providers operated within a sex rejection model. Soren provided no indication that providers considered alternative options for treating her gender dysphoria.”
And then, when she eventually changed her mind, which often happens, “she was not offered any formal detransition protocol or follow-up care plan.”

Next is sexual abuse victim Clementine Breen, who was only 12 when she too stumbled on transgenderism discussions online. Not too long after, she came out as a supposed boy to her school guidance counselor. Within months, the school was trying to socially transition her.
Although her parents were initially skeptical, the clinicians they spoke to immediately affirmed her supposed new identity and warned that she might commit suicide if they didn’t allow her to transition.
Breen was subsequently placed on puberty blockers, then testosterone. By 14, she underwent a double mastectomy.
“Breen states that no comprehensive evaluation of her childhood sexual abuse was conducted prior to medicalization,” the report notes. “Instead, her providers focused heavily on social functioning and peer comparison, reinforcing the idea that staying ‘on track’ was essential.”
Like with the others, when Breen eventually sought to detransition, providers didn’t seem interested.
“When she began stating plainly that she was a woman and regretted undergoing sex-rejecting interventions, providers became hesitant and evasive,” according to the report. “Once her former doctors learned she was detransitioning, they ceased responding to emails and calls.”

HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. has vowed to further investigate these cases and take appropriate action.
“This report identifies troubling billing practices that demand scrutiny,” he said in a statement. “HHS will follow the evidence, protect taxpayers, and hold accountable anyone who broke the law or violated the trust of patients and families. Under President Trump’s leadership, we are restoring transparency and integrity to American medicine.”
