DHS arrests 10 non-citizens for illegally voting in NC, DOJ nabs 9 more in PA

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced that 10 more non-citizens have been arrested for illegally voting in North Carolina as the Trump administration cracks down on voter fraud before the midterm elections.

Among those arrested were criminals and illegal aliens from Latin American and European countries, including El Salvador, Haiti, Jamaica, Panama, Canada, Montenegro, and Germany, with the busts coming at a crucial time for the integrity of U.S. elections.

The arrestees’ rap sheets feature a plethora of crimes including drug violations involving marijuana and cocaine, battery, fleeing arrest, larceny, firearms violations, and disorderly conduct. All of them had illegally voted in multiple elections, according to a Thursday DHS press release.

“It happened again! The patriots of @HSI_HQ have arrested 10 MORE non citizens for illegally voting in North Carolina, including illegal aliens and violent criminals,” the agency said in a Friday post to X. “Every American should have confidence that their vote counts, and we will not tolerate non-citizens spoiling our elections.”

“These aliens have been arrested and charged with illegally voting in multiple elections,” DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin said in a statement. “They knowingly violated our laws. Now, thanks to the devoted patriots of HSI and our partners at the Department of Justice, these aliens will have to answer for violating the sacred right of Americans to elect their own leadership.”

“Let this be a message to any non-citizens out there who are thinking about voting in our elections: If you illegally vote, we will arrest you and you will be charged. Only American citizens should be electing American leaders,” the Homeland Security chief added.

The ten Tar Heel State arrests come as the Department of Justice (DOJ) also announced that another 9 non-citizens have been arrested in the battleground state of Pennsylvania for illegally voting.

“Upholding the integrity of our elections, and the right of American citizens to determine the outcome, is non-negotiable,” said U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, David Metcalf. “Our democracy depends on it.”

“These cases are important because the crime of illegal voting undermines the integrity of our elections and harms citizens by stealing the power of our votes,” United States Attorney for the Middle District of Pennsylvania Brian Miller said in a statement. “Illegal voting is not a victimless crime but a serious affront to the principles of our democratic republic.”

“The right to vote is one of American citizens’ most fundamental rights, and protecting our elections’ integrity is a responsibility we take seriously,” Acting ICE Director David J. Venturella said in a statement. “When people illegally cast ballots, they undermine the law and the trust Americans place in our democratic process. These arrests send the message that election laws are not optional, and those who violate them will be held accountable. Working alongside our federal and state partners, we will continue to investigate election fraud and hold offenders accountable.”
