DHS asylum officer on leave for glorifying horrific Hamas attack worked for Palestinian Liberation Org

Congressional Republicans are demanding answers after a Homeland Security employee was placed on leave for making anti-Semitic, pro-Hamas statements.

Nejwa Ali is her name, and according to The Daily Wire, which broke the story, she used to work for the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) up until 2019, when she was inexplicably hired by DHS as an asylum officer.

Four years later, she became an adjudication officer with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, which is a subset of the wider DHS department.

The Daily Wire notes that her admission into DHS is remarkable given that the organization she used to work for, PLO, was expelled from the United States by former President Donald Trump in 2018.

But as bad as her track record is work-wise, it’s even worse rhetoric-wise.

“She has posted extremist rhetoric continuously to Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter for years — rhetoric that intensified this month as Palestinian terrorists murdered over 1,000 Jews on October 7 and Ali cheered,” according to The Daily Wire.

“F–k Israel, the government, and its military. Are you ready for your downfall?” Ali, who goes by the alias Falastine Mi Amor online, wrote on social media immediately after Hamas butchered 1,300+ Israelis on Oct. 7th.

“Palestinians have been suffering under Israel’s brutal, illegal, military, APARTHEID occupation for more than 75 years. Israel and every Israel [sic] has to remember one thing: respect our existence or expect resistance. Simple. No apologies. #freepalestine,” she reportedly added.

She continued posting trash in the days that followed.

“Free Palestine and F–K APARTHEID Israel, and any Israeli that supports the bulls–t. Your privilege is blinding, apparently, but ignorance is not bliss and I hold every Israeli accountable for their governments actions, IF they do not speak against Israel and the Israeli military,” she wrote on Oct. 8th.

On Oct. 9th, she published a video captioned “f–k Israel and any Jew that supports Israel” and a photo that said “a nation that has nothing but Allah has everything it will ever need.”

But it gets worse. She even posted a picture to Instagram glorifying the horrific terror attack.

When contacted by The Daily Wire and asked whether she’d disclosed her work with PLO to DHS upon being hired, she predictably turned into a raging leftist.

“That’s none of your f–king business. Mind your business before I call the police. If I were you, I’d respectfully hang up the phone right now,” she said.

The good news is she’s since been placed on administrative leave, according to a DHS spokesperson.

“USCIS strongly condemns antisemitism and the use of violent rhetoric in any form. USCIS employees are held to high ethical standards both on and off duty, including their presence on social media. Any violation of these standards is taken seriously by the agency,” the spokesperson said.

Of course, the problem is she’s STILL THERE.

“She should be terminated,” former USCIS boss Emilio Gonzalez told The Washington Times in an interview.

“The PLO is a designated foreign terrorist organization. The fact that she worked for them and then was hired by the Department of Homeland Security tells me that somebody dropped the ball with her background checks,” he added.

This brings the story to Sen. Josh Hawley, who on Thursday sent a letter to DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas calling for Ali’s termination and asking for more information about her hiring.

“I am alarmed by reports that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) currently employs a former spokeswoman for the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) as an officer charged with adjudicating U.S. immigration cases. According to reports and publicly available records, this employee, Nejwa Ali, has a documented history of making virulently antisemitic, pro-Hamas statements, including in the immediate aftermath of Hamas’ savage attack on innocent American and Israeli civilians,” the letter reads.

“These statements appear to cast severe doubt on her ability to impartially evaluate immigration cases. I am glad to see that she has now been placed on administrative leave—but that is not enough. If these reports are accurate, you must terminate her employment immediately,” it continues.

It’s not clear why the administration is taking so long to ax her.
