DHS calls on Spanberger to work with ICE after Va. woman stabbed to death at bus stop

Pro-illegal alien Virginia Gov. Aibigal Spanberger is under heavy fire after an illegal alien murdered a woman at a bus stop earlier this week.

Homeless career criminal Abdul Jalloh, 32, was charged with the murder of Stephanie Minter, 41, after he allegedly stabbed her to death on Monday at a bus stop along Fairfax County’s Richmond Highway.

“Jalloh is already well-known to police and prosecutors,” according to D.C. station WRC. “Court records show the unhoused man had a reputation for violence: An alleged rape in 2018 and then a series of four alleged stabbings. And more recently, before Monday’s alleged murder, two alleged assaults.”

Besides being a homeless career criminal, he’s also an illegal alien, which is why the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has begun calling on Spanberger to ensure that local police cooperate with federal immigration authorities by turning Jalloh over to them instead of releasing him back onto the streets AGAIN.

The problem is that after Spanberger assumed office in January, the newly elected governor signed an executive order barring future cooperation between local authorities and federal authorities.

“We are calling on Virginia Gov. Abigail Spanberger and Virginia’s sanctuary politicians to commit to not releasing this murderer and violent career criminal from their jail without notifying ICE,” DHS spokesperson Lauren Bis told Fox News.

“This illegal alien’s murder of an innocent, beautiful American woman came less than 24 hours before Governor Spanberger’s demonization of ICE law enforcement. This heinous criminal is a perfect example of why we need cooperation from sanctuary jurisdictions and the importance of third country removals for the safety of the American people,” she added.

Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares, a Republican, has also taken to calling out Spanberger:

“This is exactly the criminal first, victim last policies that get innocent Americans killed,” he wrote in the tweet above targeted at both Gov. Spanberger and the prosecutors also responsible for Jalloh being released back onto the streets over and over again.

All this comes roughly two months after another illegal alien, Marvin Fernando Morales-Ortez, “brutally murdered” a Virginia “resident inside his home,” according to DHS.

“On December 17, 2025, police responded to a residence in Reston, Virginia after Morales-Ortez allegedly shot and killed a man inside,” DHS explained in a press release.

“According to local reports, he fled the scene and caused a several-hour-long manhunt, placing nearby schools into lockdown. Morales-Ortez was eventually apprehended and charged with second-degree murder and firearms charges,” the press release continued.

“There is blood on the hands of Fairfax County politicians for pushing policies that released this illegal alien from jail and onto the streets of Virginia,” DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement.

“Fairfax County refused to honor ICE’s detainer and release him into their custody. Just hours after being released from jail, he committed murder in cold blood. Sanctuary policies have deadly consequences. We pray for the victim and his family,” she added.

While this occurred under former Gov. Glenn Youngkin, a Republican, Fairfax County is a Democratic county that favors the exact sort of policies that Spanberger is now pursuing on a statewide level.
