‘Didn’t know how cold it got’: Migrants begin to bail on Chicago has temps start to dip

With winter creeping into the Windy City of Chicago and local officials struggling to accommodate the scores of illegal immigrants being bussed there from Texas, things are about to go from bad to worse.

“As of Monday, Oct. 30, the City of Chicago has received over 19,800 new arrivals since August 2022. Nearly 12,000 migrants are in city shelters, while more than 3,300 others are awaiting placement – most of them, currently staying at police districts across Chicago.” Fox 32 Chicago reported.

Many of the “asylum-seekers,” as the media likes to describe them, have not experienced a winter like Chicago sees, and this is proving to be a wake-up call for those sleeping in tents on the street.

Chicago Tribune reporter Laura Rodríguez is documenting the migrants’ plight in a series of videos shared online and one family living in a tent told her, “We’re afraid of what tomorrow will feel like.”

Of course, there will be little media attention on the organized effort to steer 8 million foreign nationals to the southern border or the money and logistics needed to support the massive invasion. Nor will there be any focus on what these poor, often uneducated migrants were told or promised to convince them to embark on a long and dangerous trek where most females can expect to be raped more than once along the way.

The goal appears to be to just get them here, to change the very face of America, with the only certainty being that the Biden administration will release the vast majority into the continental United States, all but guaranteeing permanent residency.

It’s less likely that they were informed about Chicago winters.

“I didn’t how cold it got,” one woman told Rodríguez.

Migrants are sleeping on the floors of police stations and at O’Hara International Airport, and there’s a growing sense of urgency among city officials to establish proper shelters as winter arrives.

The Chicago Transit Authority is providing warming buses during certain hours, but for some strange reason the Tribune reporter said the buses are for single men and women only:

“We have minors in police stations and in the streets, this is an emergency response,” Ald. Byron Sigcho-Lopez  told Fox 32.

Unfortunately for elected officials, local residents in need are not too keen on all the resources being directed to people who came to the U.S. illegally.

“I understand the frustration, I understand the anger, the City of Chicago, the South Side and the West Side have been neglected for generations, and unfortunately now we have another federal problem that should not be a problem if we had coordination,” Sigcho-Lopez said. “We hope this will be a temporary use so that we can make sure that we save lives.”

In what has proven to be the most effective thing he has done, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) has been bussing migrants to blue sanctuary cities to help alleviate the pressure on overrun border communities — this action alone has forced the media to stop ignoring the invasion of humanity under Biden that has seen more illegal immigrants than the population of 38 states.

Human trafficking and drug smuggling are at record levels and the drug cartels, who control all movement on the Mexican side of the border, actually use colored wristbands to help organize the flow. Yet, President Biden offers cursory attention to the humanitarian crisis, primarily toward the means of facilitating the masses more efficiently.

Still, some migrants are realizing that the grass is not always greener on the other side, given their circumstances. For these few, they seek to return whence they came:
