Distraught over maskless flights, libs and journalists devolve into dramatic meltdown

A federal judge in Florida ruled against the Biden administration’s mandatory mask mandate for air travelers on Monday and most of the major airlines wasted little time scrapping mask requirements. Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, Southwest Airlines, American Airlines and Alaska Airlines were among the airliners announcing that masks are now optional for travelers.

U.S. District Judge Kathryn Kimball Mizelle concluded in a 59-page ruling that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention mask requirement “exceeded the CDC statutory authority,” saying the mandate was “arbitrary and capricious.”

In some cases, passengers were informed midflight and for many it was a moment of pure bliss. For others, it didn’t go quite so well:

Some of the left took the lifting of a mask mandate particularly hard, as seen from Dr. Jeremy Samuel Faust, an emergency physician at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and an instructor at Harvard Medical School.

According to the god doctor, babies and small children — those least at risk with COVID-19 — are now going to die:

Even the liberal media got in on the handwringing, as seen from New York Times reporter Maggie Astor, who fretted in a tweet: “I can’t stop thinking about people who may have chosen to book and board this flight based on a personal risk assessment that involved everyone being masked. And then, MIDFLIGHT, when it was physically impossible to leave, that element of their risk assessment was upended.”

From PBS’s Geoff Bennett to Daily Beast columnist Wajahat Ali, the distraught was obvious:

However, few were as hypocritical as Slate senior writer Mark Joseph Stern, who moaned about how our legal system is “badly broken.”

This being the same journo who celebrated the court striking down a Trump-era ban on travel from a select number of Muslim-majority countries due to terrorism concerns, which was dishonestly portrayed by liberals as a “Muslim ban.”

“Trump’s Muslim ban was blocked by four bad-ass female judges. The judiciary grabs back,” Stern triumphed at the time.

Meanwhile, those on the right were quick to note the questionable effectiveness of masks and the double standard at play here from the liberal media:
