Doctor who administered saline shots in place of COVID vax faced serious charges, until Bondi stepped in

The Trump Department of Justice has dropped charges against a doctor who helped people avoid getting the COVID vaccine during the pandemic.

Dr. Michael Kirk Moore Jr. was charged in early 2023 by the Biden Department of Justice for “conspiracy to defraud the United States by issuing fake CDC COVID-19 vaccination record cards to fraudulent vaccine card seekers.”

Operating out of the Plastic Surgery Institute of Utah Inc., Moore first destroyed over $28,000 of government-provided COVID vaccines.

He then sold 1,937 fake vaccine cards “in exchange for either direct cash payments or required ‘donations’ to a specified charitable organization” to those not interested in taking the COVID vaccine.

He also “administered saline shots to minors – at the request of their parents – so children would think they were receiving a COVID-19 vaccine.”

“By allegedly falsifying vaccine cards and administering saline shots to children instead of COVID-19 vaccines, not only did this provider endanger the health and well-being of a vulnerable population, but also undermined public trust and the integrity of federal health care programs,” HHS investigator Curt L. Muller said at the time of the charging.

“This defendant allegedly used his medical profession to administer bogus vaccines to unsuspecting people, to include children falsifying a sense of security,” DHS investigator Chris Miller added. “HSI remains committed to working with our partners to bring those who seek to take advantage of the pandemic to deliberately harm and deceive others for their own profit to justice.”

Moore’s supporters staunchly disagreed with this narrative and made that abundantly clear to Attorney General Pam Bondi and President Donald Trump once his administration took over:

The demands for him to be let off the hook increased dramatically in early July when Moore faced a court date.

The demands eventually worked.

On Saturday, July 12, Bondi announced she was dropping all charges against the doctor.

“At my direction @TheJusticeDept has dismissed charges against Dr. Kirk Moore,” she wrote in a tweet. “Dr. Moore gave his patients a choice when the federal government refused to do so. He did not deserve the years in prison he was facing. It ends today.”

In an official motion to dismiss the case, acting Utah U.S. Attorney Felice John Viti wrote that dropping the case was “in the interests of justice.”

While Moore’s supporters were thrilled by the news, some of them accused Bondi of only dropping the charges because the pressure had become too much for her to bear.

Moore’s lawyers, meanwhile, said in a statement that dismissing the case was “the right decision and the just one,” according to the New York Times.
