Dolly Parton, 77, wins halftime in Dallas Cowboy cheerleading outfit – showed Madonna how it’s done!

In what Outkick characterized as the “performance of the century,” country music star Dolly Parton threw caution to the wind with her halftime performance at the Thanksgiving Day game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Washington Commanders.

You see, the 77-year-old iconic singer entertained the sold-out crowd at ATT Stadium and millions more watching on television while rocking a Cowboys cheerleader outfit — and what’s more, she pulled it off!

In addition to belting out two of her classic hits, “Jolene” and “9 to 5,” Parton also performed Queen’s “We Are the Champions/We Will Rock You,” which is on her new album “Rockstar.”

CBS Sports announcer Tony Romo, a former Cowboys star player, was quite impressed with Parton’s halftime performance.

“She was wearing the… Cowboys cheerleading outfit,” Romo told fellow announcer Jim Nantz. “You saw that coming, didn’t you? You said, ‘I think she’s going to go with a little cheerleading outfit tonight,’ and I was like, ‘Wow, pretty good.'”

Nantz was ready to focus on the second half of the game and asked Romo for his take there, but he wasn’t finished singing Dolly’s praises, “I mean, she looks amazing, right? She’s wonderful. Who doesn’t like Dolly Parton?”

The former player caught a little flak for his extra helping of enthusiasm for Dolly Parton.

“Tony Romo’s wife gonna whoop his ass when he gets home,” one social media user tweeted,

Another asked, “[Does] Tony Romo know he’s on TV?”

And then there was this:

But Romo had plenty of company. Even Cowboys owner Jerry Jones was impressed — then again, his team just laid a 45-10 whooping on the Redskins Commanders, so he was feeling a bit festive:

Here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story, as seen on X:
