Donald Trump Jr. did not have an official role in his father’s first administration and he told Fox News Digital on Tuesday that he does not plan to take on such a role in a potential second one.
But there is one job former President Donald Trump’s eldest son and namesake covets — RINO slayer.
“I want to veto the RINOs. I want to have a veto power over the RINOs. That’s all I’m asking for,” Don Jr. told Fox News Digital.

RINO, of course, is an acronym for Republican in Name Only, and being able to nix these liberal-minded individuals from his father’s circle is a powerful position.
“The only role I want is to put our people in other positions of power,” he added. “I just want to stop the bad guys from ever getting in those positions of power. That’s the only thing I want.”
As for who Trump Jr. might see as a RINO, he tipped his hand earlier this year when asked about former House Speaker Paul Ryan not attending the Republican National Convention if his father is the nominee.
“He’s the RINO that the America First movement despises, so if he doesn’t show up to the convention in Milwaukee, no one gives a damn,” he answered.

On the other hand, Trump Jr. sees Sen. J.D. Vance, the man his father tapped as his running mate on Monday, “as an incredible America First patriot.”
“I think he is someone who truly believes in that mission — he is not a Washington D.C. neocon warmonger, and I think that is so critical,” he told Fox News Digital. “I love having a young, articulate, energetic guy as someone who can help also keep this movement going for generations to come — I think that is so fundamental and so important.”
He reportedly trusts Vance as “a business guy, a politician, and as someone who is probably one of the most articulate fighters against the insanity over on the other side.”
“He does a better job in hostile media territory than most of our best guys do,” Trump Jr. said. “I think it is just so critical for the movement going forward and I think he’s going to do a great job as vice president.”
As one social media user noted, Trump made some regrettable choices last go-round — John Bolton — and Don Jr. may actually serve a useful role as the official RINO slayer:
At the RNC convention, @DonaldJTrumpJr said the only position in his father’s administration he’d want is veto power over selection of any RINO cabinet members. This is smart, as last time, @realDonaldTrump made some regrettable picks. I think Don Jr. has a better handle on who…
