Donald Trump or Don Rickles? POTUS has press rolling over jab at ‘fat slob’ Pritzker

President Donald Trump delivered a brutal jab at Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker in a comedic moment at the White House.

During the annual White House turkey pardoning ceremony on Tuesday, the president took a shot at the Democrat as a “big, fat slob” as he seamlessly went from criticizing soft-on-crime policies to trolling Pritzker over his weight.

“The mayor is incompetent, and the governor is … a big, fat slob,” Trump said at one point in his speech as he also targeted Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson. “He ought to invite us and say, ‘Please make Chicago safe.’ We’re gonna lose a great city if we don’t do it quickly.”

“I looked at the various cases, granting mercy, discovering the terrible trauma that everyone’s going through, and I had a little bit of a Pritzker joke,” the president then said as he pivoted to his comic jabs.

“I was going to talk about Pritzker in size, but when I talk about Pritzker, I get angry because he’s not letting us do the job. So I’m not going to tell my Pritzker joke,” he said with tongue-in-cheek.

“They have a very cute little Pritzker joke — some speechwriter wrote some joke about his weight. But I would never want to talk about his weight. I don’t talk about people being fat,” Trump continued as the crowd broke into laughter.

“I refuse to talk about the fact that he’s a fat slob, I don’t mention it,” he said before he poked fun at himself. “I’d like to lose a few pounds, too, by the way. And I’m not going to lose it on Thanksgiving.”

While Trump entertained with his shot at the Illinois governor, there was no shortage of jokes as he delivered his remarks at the Rose Garden ceremony pardoning this year’s turkeys, Waddle and Gobble.

“I determined that last year’s turkey pardons are totally invalid, as are the pardons of about every other person that was pardoned other than Where’s Hunter,” Trump quipped, referring to the pardons issued by former President Joe Biden using an autopen.

Trump sparked more laughter when he shared what he would have liked this year’s turkeys to have been named.
