‘Don’t do that’: Sparks fly as Tarlov reacts to Gutfeld’s ‘trans’ joke

Fox News co-hosts Greg Gutfeld and Jessica Tarlov engaged in a heated back-and-forth discussion over left-wing indoctrination in schools with the house liberal taking great exception at a humorous jab at transgenders by her more popular colleague.

In another front in the attack on Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, a formidable 2024 presidential candidate if he runs, Democrats and their stooges in the media are throwing fits over the blocking of a controversial “African-American studies” course in the state’s public schools.

Just as Florida’s parental rights law was deceptively morphed into the so-called “don’t say gay” bill by the narrative engineers of the “woke” cultural revolution, so has DeSantis’ move to ban the course which promotes such ideological concepts as “queer theory” and “intersectionality” that have nothing to do with actual African-American history, leading to accusations that he is a hateful book-banning bigot.

Tarlov was all too happy to go along with the false “reality” fueling the leftist outrage machine on Monday’s edition of “The Five” and sparks flew between her and Gutfeld when he sought to inject a little levity into her spirited defense of homosexual smut in classrooms.

During the segment, Tarlov uncorked the absolute falsehood that “the Biden administration is not in on trans indoctrination,” a ludicrous statement about a government and its leader who has openly championed puberty-blocking drugs and genital mutilation surgery for minors as a matter of official policy, drawing an incredulous reaction from other co-hosts while parroting left talking points in her defense of transgender indoctrination.

“I would not want anyone giving my child puberty blockers without consulting me,” she said. “I am not against the idea of having conversation with kids about gender fluidity which is one of the main targets of these book bans that are coming around now and that is what it looks like when you live in…”

“What’s in the books?” asked her fellow co-host, putting her on the spot, to which she downplayed the graphic content as merely being about pronouns.

The liberal co-host then leaned into her talking points about DeSantis.

“If you want to live in Ron DeSantis’s Florida, and there are a lot of people who do want to, but the reason why it won’t be such a cakewalk as many Republicans think is they are doing things like this, like banning the teaching of AP African-American history,” she said as she read a quote from Biden’s Department of Education that “it teaches students about activism, intersectionality and encourages ending the war on black trans, queer and gender and non-conforming and intersex people.”

“I’m sorry, what?” Tarlov sputtered. “You want to cancel, that’s the only AP class in Florida that’s getting canceled.”

“If you are a teacher in Manatee County, Florida, you now are not allowed to choose the books in your own libraries. It has to go through a media literacy person or librarian for them to choose. There are teachers now who are having to cover up or remove all of the books that they have hand-selected for their classrooms because of this assault by the government of Florida,” she added.

Her co-hosts then reacted with Jesse Watters stating, “It’s not a good class. I looked at the curriculum. It’s garbage.”

After more back and forth, Gutfeld jumped in, ” That’s total indoctrination. All the intersectionality, trans…,”

Tarlov responded by trotting out a straw man, “You don’t think that black trans people exist or black queer people exist?”

Gutfeld called her out on the distractive debate tactic, “That’s a straw man. Or a straw trans, excuse me.”

She shot back, “Don’t do that. This is serious.”

“No, I’m actually being serious. Just because people do not want that stuff, because it’s age-inappropriate does not make them transphobic because you’re going there,” Gutfeld replied.

Tarlov then cherry-picked one of the controversial books to portray DeSantis and other conservatives as extremists before Jeanine Pirro brought the segment to a close.
