The New York Times published what appeared to be a warning to Democrats ahead of the midterm elections that parents “have become increasingly dogmatic” over pandemic mandates, with the article coming across as a hit piece on concerned parents.
“They were once Democrats and Republicans. But fears for their children in the pandemic transformed their thinking, turning them into single-issue voters for November’s midterms,” the Times said.
The article got a lot of attention, including from some on the left eager to boost the narrative. Will Stancil is one of those loyal water carriers — his Twitter profile includes this gem: “Self-described proud member of ‘Do-Something Twitter.'”
“Anti-vaccine, anti-mask, anti-closure privilege moms are the worst political creation of the pandemic,” he tweeted.
Borrowing from his critical race theory learnings, our hero went on about “Privilege Momhood,” sharing his take on what that entails — you know, caring about what happens to their children.
Symptoms of Privilege Momhood:
-“mom” in Twitter bio
-obviously wealthy
-years-long fixation with school closures and masking
-reports being “politically homeless”
-strangely curious about DeSantis and Libs of TikTokPrognosis:
-high likelihood of future fascist politics— Will Stancil (@whstancil) August 2, 2022
“Jokes aside, we probably need to talk more about the absolutely enormous community of affluent, high-status anti-vaxxers on here,” he would add, donning his tin foil hat. “These views are only held by a small minority of the public, but on here it’s an alarmingly dense network of high-follower accounts, many professing to be disgruntled liberals, all obsessed with anti-vax and anti-mask politics. Extremely obvious right-wing radicalization pathway.”
Stancil should have left well enough alone at that point, but he foolishly pressed on to come back to Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis — the left is always upfront about who they fear the most.
And again, a lot of these people seem to have an affection for DeSantis. The anti-vax parents are functioning as an advance team for the DeSantis presidential campaign and, I suspect, will be a major backdoor to DeSantis support in a lot of affluent, nominally liberal circles

And that’s when he was met with a harsh dose of reality, served up hard and fast by DeSantis’ press secretary Christina Pushaw:
OR…
Maybe they just like DeSantis because he didn’t lock kids out of school for 18 months, fire people over shots and boosters, or force toddlers to cover their faces with dirty cloth for 2 years?
Nah can’t be that, they must be mIsiNfOrMeD

Forced to face facts outside their limited worldview, liberals often show their true character and that appears to be the case here as well. Pushaw would share a response from Stancil saying that Governor DeSantis “should die in prison.”
If he keeps up this level of discourse, he will be suspended first. But I am not even asking for that. Let the Maoists show us who they really are. pic.twitter.com/qEagYfAY27

For what, having different political views? Pushaw clearly got under his skin as seen below, as she seemed to be enjoying herself exposing Stancil for what he is:
The spokeswoman for the governor of Florida tweeted at or about me, goading on the anti-vax mob, no fewer than EIGHTEEN TIMES pic.twitter.com/PreRyXZ7W3

Her reply?
