Dozens reportedly arrested after pro-Palestine protesters gather around Sen. Schumer’s home

Left-wing protesters took to the streets in New York City on Friday in a show of support for Palestinians with a mob descending on the home of Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) in Brooklyn.

Thousands turned out in the Big Apple to rage against Israel’s military offensive to clean terrorists out of Gaza after Islamist fiends slaughtered over 1,000 citizens of the Jewish state – as well as dozens of Americans – with the top Senate Democrat’s apartment being targeted as Schumer readied for a trip to Israel.

According to media reports, dozens of arrests were made of the mob including local lawmakers who turned out in a scene similar to other organized mass demonstrations for a variety of leftist causes that have taken place in post-Obama America. But unlike the others, this one could be a big political problem for Democrats with hatred for Israel running deep within the party’s base.

The mob of hundreds assembled at the Grand Army Plaza after the far-left group Jewish Voice for Peace, which describes itself as the “largest progressive Jewish anti-Zionist organization in the world,” issued a call to action at Schumer’s Park Slope residence in a post on X.

“Stop the genocide against Palestinians in Gaza,” the group wrote, invoking the all-purpose term that is used by the left to stir the emotions of activist shock troops whether the mobilization is about racial issues, illegal immigration, abortion, transgenderism, or in this case, Israel.

The protesters carried signs and banners and disrupted traffic before the police moved in to make arrests with one large banner that was displayed reading “Jews say stop genocide against Palestinians” in front of the building’s entry.

While the total number of arrests is unclear, the group said that “hundreds” of people were taken into custody in a Friday night post to X.

“HUNDREDS were just arrested blockading @SenSchumer’s street, including high profile public officials, rabbis, politicians, scholars, and descendants of holocaust survivors — ages 20 to 80,” the post read. “We demand an end to the genocide of Palestinians in Gaza. Never again is today.”

Thousands turned out in Gotham on the global “day of Jihad” which was called for by the former chief of Hamas but other than a few scuffles between opposing groups of protesters, the violence that some had feared didn’t materialize.

“As part of the global movement for justice in Palestine we work in close partnership with a broad spectrum of allies, partners, faith-based, peace, and social justice organizations in the US, Israel/Palestine and beyond. We seek to be accountable to those directly affected by Israel’s discriminatory and violent policies and practices, while working to effectively build and accountably deploy our power as American Jews,” the group states on its website.
