Supporters of Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, were livid at a flippant tweet from senate candidate Dr. Mehmet Oz on Valentine’s Day.
The offending tweet contained a graphic that said “Happy Valentine’s Day to everyone except Dr. Fauci.” The caption read: “Roses are red, violets are blue, Dr. Fauci lied to you.
Happy Valentine’s Day to everyone except Fauci!” This sparked a firestorm in the replies, with users lauding Fauci and insulting Oz.

Social media commentators took no prisoners with their responses:
Tell me you’re threatened by a world class doctor without telling me you’re threatened by a world class doctor lol

Dr. Fauci is a hero. Dr. Oz is a zero.

Dr. Fauci is a hero and has my complete trust in his word and advice. You however, never will have my trust or confidence.

An adult man, intending to be an elected member of our government actually made this tweet.

Your daily reminder that taking medical advice from “Dr.” Oz is as valid as taking military strategy advice from Col. Sanders

But that’s not to say that he didn’t have some supporters:
How is something this indisputably true even controversial? Fauci has a promising future as a cult leader after they finally bounce him out of his role in mismanaging the pandemic.

People are mad at Dr Oz for telling the truth about Dr Fauci.
