Dr. Mehmet Oz traveled to New York City after making claims about the “Chinese mafia” exploiting senior care centers.
Oz has been sounding the alarm about multinational “organized criminal syndicates” that are exploiting programs like Medicare and Medicaid.

Dr. Oz says the biggest threats stealing from Medicare and Medicaid aren’t everyday grifters.
He says organized criminal syndicates from around the world are exploiting the programs on a massive scale.
“The real problems are organized criminal syndicates that are multinational in scope.”
“The Chinese mafia runs social adult daycare in New York. They take $1 billion a year out of that program and fund human trafficking on the East Coast.”
“And on the West Coast, we got Russian mafia running hospice.”

“The Chinese mafia runs social adult daycare in New York. They take $1 billion a year out of that program and fund human trafficking on the East Coast,” he alleged.
During a visit to Fox News several weeks prior, he reiterated these concerns.

Dr Oz: the bigger concern I have is the Chinese Mafia
“The bigger concern I have with the Chinese mafia, they’re in Queens. Some of them go to cash, as you saw in your video, that’s used to pay the bribes to the people who attend these events.”
“It’s hard to find a legitimate outfit. You know, there’s a hundred of these things. Most of them are actually breaking the law by paying bribes to pretend they’re giving care to people.”

On Tuesday, he took to the streets of New York City where he “delivered warning letters to Kent Senior Care and Evergreen Adult Day Care in Flushing, Queens, during a broader fraud crackdown that involved the FBI, the Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General, the NYPD and other agencies,” according to Fox News Digital, which was able to attend the visits with Oz.
“The bills are much higher than they should be,” Oz explained to the director at his first stop, Kent Senior Care. “The billing is for more people. It doesn’t look very crowded here.”
Despite arguing that the billing accurately reflected the building’s occupancy, Oz was blunt with the director.
“You’re getting this letter from the U.S. Government because we don’t believe you,” he said.
He also pointed out that the facility’s attendance records may not be all that accurate either.
“People were just walking in there without signing anything,” Oz noted. “And then after I showed up and he saw what we were doing with my team, he started collecting these documents to be signed.”
“Fox News Digital also witnessed several seniors enter Kent Senior Care without immediately signing attendance sheets. Additional seniors who arrived later were instructed to sign in,” the outlet reported.
He also maintained his insistence that organized crime had some involvement with fraud, by “offering seniors money to attend facilities and then billing the government for services that were not actually provided.”
“We know from the billing here that there’s no way this business is running in the way that they claim to be running without something being wrong,” Oz explained to Fox News Digital. “Is it an innocent mistake? A hundred times in a row, I don’t think so.”
To be clear, the establishments visited by Oz and Fox News Digital have not been connected with any “Chinese mafia” or other criminal organization.
He says the federal government observed a significant spike in billing “across the industry and claimed that annual spending on the programs had approached $1 billion.” Oz contends that money siphoned from these programs is used to fund other criminal exploits in the region, “including money laundering and human trafficking.”
