A Secret Service agent allegedly sexually assaulted a member of Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign staff sometime last week.
After dining and drinking at a restaurant in Green Bay, Wisconsin, the accused special agent and several Harris campaign staffers returned to the staffers’ hotel room, at which point the agent groped one of the staffers in front of everybody, according to an investigation by RealClearPolitics (RCP).
“One source in the Secret Service community said the accused agent was so inebriated that he was kicked out of his hotel room by co-workers and passed out in the hallway, where photos were taken of him,” RCP notes.

After top Secret Service officials learned of the perp’s behavior, he was summoned to the agency’s headquarters in D.C. and ordered to meet up with investigators.
“The U.S. Secret Service Office of Professional Responsibility is investigating a misconduct allegation involving an employee,” a Secret Service spokesman said in a statement to RCP. “The Secret Service holds its personnel to the highest standards. The employee has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.”
A Harris spokesperson also issued a statement to RCP.
“The Office of the Vice President takes the safety of staff seriously,” the spokesperson said. “We have zero tolerance for sexual misconduct. Senior OVP officials were alerted by the USSS about an incident involving an agent and informed that USSS initiated an investigation. The Office of the Vice President will not be releasing further information.”
A separate source who later spoke with the Daily Mail claimed the accused Secret Service agent “may have tried to grope another woman present too.”
The source also said the agent was already “fall-down drunk” when he approached Harris’ campaign staffers at the restaurant the night of the incident last week.
“There’s no misunderstanding about what happened,” the source said. “It’s just him being a drunk doofus at a bar. The staff came in and recognized him from being in the same orbit, and they allowed him to join the group.”
“In his drunken state, he started making advances. This agent is 100 percent at fault. He was a hot mess and at some point wound up on the hotel hallway floor. There’s some video of him being intoxicated on the floor. He was annihilated,” the source added.

The source went on to describe the victim as a 20-year-old, low-level staffer.
“The victim’s okay but deeply concerned at not having her name attached to this,” the source said. “This is not what she wants to be known for.”
As for the perp, the source warned that punishment is coming.
“He’s going to be investigated, he’s no longer going to be working for the VP, and his career will be adversely impacted,” the source said.
The Secret Service’s latest scandal comes amid the Senate releasing a damning report revealing all the mistakes the agency made prior to would-be Trump assassin Thomas Crooks opening fire at a Pennsylvania rally in June.
“The report, citing interviews with top Secret Service officials and local law enforcement who oversaw the security for the rally, said the failures were ‘foreseeable, preventable’ and found that many of the problems identified by the committee ‘remain unaddressed’ by the Secret Service,” according to CNN.
“Some of the problems highlighted include the Secret Service failing to set up visual barriers around the rally that may have blocked shooter Thomas Matthew Crooks’ view of Trump, the lack of a plan on how to secure the building the shooter took aim from and the general chaos of communication around the shooter’s movement leading up to the attempt on the former president’s life,” CNN reported.
All this also comes months after a Secret Service agent protecting Harris reportedly suffered some sort of mental breakdown.
In a letter written in June to then-Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle, House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer specifically cited an incident that occurred on April 22nd at Joint Base Andrews in Prince George’s County, Maryland.
“It was recently reported that a Secret Service agent, tasked with protecting Vice President Kamala Harris, physically attacked her superior (and the commanding agent in charge) and other agents trying to subdue her while on duty at Joint Base Andrews and assigned to the Vice President’s protective detail,” the letter reads.
“A Secret Service spokesperson confirmed that the agent had been ‘removed from their assignment’ following the attack and that the agent ‘began displaying behavior their colleagues found distressing’ and further described the incident as a ‘medical matter,’” the letter continues.
According to Comer, his other sources claimed that the troubled agent even chest-bumped and shoved her superior, “then tackled and punched him while still having her gun in her holster.”
