No matter how you spin it, there’s no good look about the Easter Bunny having to retrieve the President of the United States after he had seemingly wandered off to greet some of the folks who were on hand.
The traditional White House Easter Egg roll was held Monday on the South Lawn, the first such event since the pandemic, and there was even a Hunter Biden sighting, as the controversial first son was on hand with his wife and 2-year-old son. But the story of the day appeared to center on the commander in chief of the world’s greatest military being directed by the Easter Bunny.
President Biden and Jill Biden, the first lady, hosted the egg roll and the president can be seen in footage standing alone near a barrier chatting with some people — some reports suggest that he was talking to a reporter — when a person in an Easter Bunny costume comes up to pull him away, as seen here:

A closer shot reveals that Biden was in the middle of talking about something involving Pakistan and Afghanistan when he was suddenly interrupted.

Turns out, there wasn’t just some random person underneath all that rabbit fur, which would seem to make the story a little better – perhaps. Apparently, Meghan Hays, the White House Director of Message Planning was playing the Easter Bunny, so that explains a lot.
However, it does nothing for the terrible optics impacting a president who just saw the worst approval ratings for any president ever at this point of his presidency.
It looks like Meghan Hays, the WH director of “message planning,” was the bunny who interrupted POTUS’ comments on Afghanistan.
Clearly Biden’s message was not planned 🥴 https://t.co/TZEgItIht2
