Conservative commentator Steve Bannon reacted to President Donald J. Trump’s latest threat against Iran by likening his words to those of failed Democrat presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, an unapologetic warmonger.
Trump rang in the new year with a post to Truth Social putting the mullahs on notice that if they use lethal violence to put down protests against the regime, the United States “is locked and loaded and ready to go,” a signal that the nation could soon be plunged into yet another foreign military conflict.
On Friday’s edition of his “War Room” podcast, the former White House strategist had strong words for his old boss, joking that the reason why Mrs. Clinton and fellow warmonger Samantha Power must have been invited to Mar-a-Lago is that Trump is using their playbook.
BANNON: Aren’t ppl teasing that Samantha Power and Hillary Clinton must’ve gotten invited to Mar a Lago’s New Year’s Eve party, because the president coming out saying “we’re locked and loaded” sounds straight out of their playbook. pic.twitter.com/renrst0N55

“Aren’t people teasing right now that Samantha Powers and Hillary Clinton must somehow have gotten invited to the Mar-a-Lago New Year’s Eve celebration because the president coming out today saying, ‘Hey, we’re locked and loaded,’ isn’t that straight from the Samantha Powers and Hillary Clinton playbook?” Bannon said.
“If Iran shots (sic) and violently kills peaceful protesters, which is their custom, the United States of America will come to their rescue. We are locked and loaded and ready to go,” the commander in chief wrote in an early Friday morning post to Truth Social.
Clinton was serving as Barack Obama’s secretary of state and Power on the National Security Council in 2011 when they successfully advocated for regime change in Libya, resulting in the toppling of longtime strongman Muammar Gaddafi, who met his inglorious demise after he was chased down and beaten by a mob and sodomized with a knife.
Slick Willie’s better half was so thrilled with the bloody result of her playbook being used that she gushed about the brutal death of the former Libyan leader during a chilling “60 Minutes” moment.

“We came. We saw. He died,” giggled Clinton.
Also during Friday’s “War Room” episode, Bannon suggested that it would be best to just be patient and allow sanctions to work instead of U.S. military involvement in Iran.
BANNON: If you enforce the sanctions and let the mullahs keep running the economy under Islamic law instead of a free market, it collapses. When the economy collapses, the Persian people overthrow them, just like they overthrew the Shah. pic.twitter.com/smMi8qbR6A

Bannon said to “just enforce the sanctions and let the mullahs try to run the economy as they’re running it because they don’t know what they’re doing. Running it by Islamic law and not by the laws of a free market economy. The economy will crash, and the Persian people will overthrow these guys just like they overthrew the Shah.”
While it remains to be seen whether Trump’s saber-rattling will result in military strikes in Tehran, the U.S. carried out decisive action in Venezuela early on Saturday morning, capturing dictator Nicolás Maduro, who will stand trial, being spared the fate of Gaddafi, which was right out of Hillary’s playbook.
