One of Abdul El-Sayed’s staffers had an insane reaction to Republican opponent Mike Rogers’ pickup ad.
On Sunday, the Republican’s campaign released a video of him riding in an antique Ford with American flags and a “Mike Rogers for U.S. Senate” poster on the side, overlaid with Toby Keith’s “American Ride.”
Watch:
Gotta love this American Ride!
There’s no better way to do the Woodward Dream Cruise! pic.twitter.com/gD4heq06Gk

“Gotta love this American Ride! There’s no better way to do the Woodward Dream Cruise!” Rogers could be heard saying in the video.
But not everyone liked the video. Mason Pressler, a political manager in the northern part of Michigan for El-Sayed’s campaign, drew a horrific comparison between the ad and “a KKK cross burning.”
Look:
Mike Rogers’ campaign has the aesthetics of a 1960s white flight suburb and a KKK cross burning. https://t.co/UHILzb6hTc

“Mike Rogers’ campaign has the aesthetics of a 1960s white flight suburb and a KKK cross burning,” Pressler wrote.
It didn’t take long for the Republican’s campaign to fire back on X.
Hmmm @AbdulElSayed’s staffer thinks driving a Michigan-made Ford truck is akin to the KKK…. https://t.co/wM85jJnHCh pic.twitter.com/tSStzlxqpd

“Hmmm, [El-Sayed]’s staffer thinks driving a Michigan-made Ford truck is akin to the KKK…” a rapid-response account for Rogers said.
X users also slammed the take:
I guess vintage cars and the American flag are supposed to represent the KKK and White supremacy now. https://t.co/XzRVEmdOky pic.twitter.com/DbXa5rSjar

Look at the video that this Leftist is quoting. What could be possibly offensive about that?
The Left just hates America. It’s that simple. https://t.co/sqWEOIV27Y

Abdul hates classic cars too. Add Woodward Dream Cruise and classic cars to the list of things Abdul wants to ban in addition to bacon, dogs and football.

Simply driving a car is all it takes for Abdul Al-Sayed’s team to accuse someone of being in the Klan. https://t.co/GaULeXuaqB
