Ellen DeGeneres hawks discount skincare with unfortunate name and trollers can’t stop laughing

Former talk show host Ellen DeGeneres is catching hell online for a recent infomercial hawking her skincare brand.

DeGeneres has retired from daily television appearances, but that doesn’t mean she’s disappeared from the public eye entirely. She recently starred in a commercial for her skincare brand, Kind Science, in which she promoted a bundle for a hugely discounted price. Those who took advantage of the deal would receive six products for $59.95, rather than paying the $250 it would have cost to purchase them all separately.

A video was posted to social media with the caption “Ellen fell off HARD.”

The Kind Science brand was founded by DeGeneres in 2021 with the help of beauty expert Victoria Jackson, but it’s the rather ironic name that has social media users talking.

In 2020, news of behind-the-scenes behavior began to emerge, painting the talk show host as anything but kind.

“I would dread going to [my mom’s] office to see her after school or on a day if I was sick and Ellen was there,” a man named Ben Gravolet, who says DeGeneres worked for his mother’s recruitment agency during the 1970s, told The Daily Mail. “She would criticize my weight. I would try to do homework in the office, she’d call me stupid, she’d call me fat. She would criticize my clothes. “I was just a boy and this was a grown woman who took pleasure in seeing me become visibly upset. I don’t think there’s any excuse for it. I was a defenseless kid. What could I have told her back?”
