Elon Musk deletes Paul Pelosi conspiracy tweet that shook political class to its very core

Elon Musk shook the political class to its very core on Sunday with a reply to a Hillary Clinton tweet that suggested there’s a “tiny possibility” there’s more to the story of Paul Pelosi being assaulted by a man with a hammer “than meets the eye.”

That statement alone was not what had the left up in arms, but that the new “Chief Twit” linked to an article pushing what is widely seen as a conspiracy theory, which is that Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband was once again intoxicated — Paul Pelosi had just pleaded guilty to DUI after a late-night crash in California wine country — and had hooked up with a male prostitute who then turned violent. The fact that there are many questions about events that night fed such speculation, including Paul Pelosi describing his attacker, David DePape, as a “friend” during his 911 call.

But the fact that Elon Musk, the world’s richest man who was already dominating the news cycle after finally acquiring Twitter late last week, would elevate such a rumor was…. well, too much to bear for the left. A fact Musk seemed to realize as well because he would soon delete the red-hot tweet seen here:

With Democrats fully desperate ahead of next week’s midterm elections, Hillary Clinton had politicized the assault on Speaker Pelosi’s husband by blaming Republicans.

“The Republican Party and its mouthpieces now regularly spread hate and deranged conspiracy theories. It is shocking, but not surprising, that violence is the result. As citizens, we must hold them accountable for their words and the actions that follow,” she tweeted.

The liberal media, in full election mode, is selling out on the fabricated narrative trying to sell the nudist hemp jewelry maker and longtime San Francisco resident as a “MAGA believer,” contorting some of the rambling, often nonsensical beliefs of a mentally-disturbed man as being consistent with Trump supporters.

Never mind that his former life partner, Oxane “Gypsy” Taub, who is now in prison for the attempted abduction of a 14-year-old boy near his high school, insisted that DePape was not only mentally ill but that he shared her “progressive” views.

“Well when I met him, he was only 20 years old, and he didn’t have any experience in politics, and he was very much in alignment with my views and I’ve always been very progressive. I absolutely admire Nancy Pelosi,”  Taub told ABC7 via telephone.

She would also offer her “deepest apology” to the Pelosis.

“I would like to express my deepest apology to Nancy Pelosi and her husband for the terrible tragic thing that happened,” she said.

With the left having a hammerlock — pardon the pun — on information, or more importantly, the censoring of information by labeling it “misinformation,” Elon Musk acquired Twitter in large part in the interests of free speech and his purchase threatens that control. Already a target of the cancel culture mob — General Motors “suspended” its advertising from Twitter on Friday — the Paul Pelosi tweet was the equivalent of pouring gasoline on a raging fire.

That being said, Musk, who tweeted on Friday that comedy “is now legal on Twitter,” is not backing down from a well-established habit of poking the proverbial bear.

Responding Sunday night to a New York Times tweet pushing a story with this headline, “Elon Musk, in a Tweet, Shares Link From Site Known to Publish False News,” Musk said: “This is fake – I did *not* tweet out a link to The New York Times!”
