Elon Musk, the world’s richest man, was a member of President Donald J. Trump’s delegation to China, along with Nvidia’s CEO Jensen Huang and Apple CEO Tim Cook, but more than one person felt like the Tesla and SpaceX boss stole the show.
Trump traveled to Beijing for a summit with Xi Jinping and invited America’s top business leaders along to “work their magic” on expanding access, investment, and trade deals with China.
The two sides discussed ways to enhance economic cooperation between countries, including expanding market access for American businesses into China and increasing Chinese investment.

In a charming short video shared on X, Elon Musk is seen chatting, smiling, checking his phone, and warmly engaging with fellow attendees — including Tim Cook — during a formal banquet, though his autistic traits seemed to be on full display. At one point, Xiaomi CEO and Chinese billionaire Lei Jun stopped by for a selfie, and Musk’s facial expressions showed he was somewhat uncomfortable but still making a genuine effort to be gracious.
As previously mentioned, there was a suggestion that Musk stole the show with his presence, becoming the “main” attraction:
Elon completely stole the banquet 😂
He was already posing for someone else when Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun walked up to his idol asking for a selfie
Elon instantly poses with the funniest face
does the same funny expression with Apple CEO Tim Cook too
Now Elon became the MAIN… pic.twitter.com/WqlgKTgk5b

Turns out, as he is wont to do, Musk brought his 6-year-old son, X Æ A-Xii, along for the trip — the tyke was decked in Chinese-style clothing and wearing an over-the-shoulder tiger bag:
🚨 JUST IN: Elon Musk has thrown the left into a FRENZY because he was holding his son Lil X on his shoulders for a group photo during President Trump’s China State Visit
HOW can you hate this? ❤️
Elon bringing his son everywhere proves he’s a great dad!

While he may appear awkward at times, few disagreed that Musk acted like he was having the time of his life — here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story, as seen on X:
I love how everyone else is acting super serious and Elon Musk is just having the time of his life like it is a school field trip 😂 pic.twitter.com/jX4YWc8Una

Your ability to persistently always look awkward in social events is truly an inspiration to all introverts across the country sir 😂
