Elon Musk to donate X ad revenue to Israeli hospitals, Red Cross in Gaza – will track spending

Billionaire Elon Musk, the owner of the social media network X, announced Tuesday that he intends to donate some of the company’s revenue to medical authorities in Israel and Gaza.

“X Corp will be donating all revenue from advertising & subscriptions associated with the war in Gaza to hospitals in Israel and the Red Cross/Crescent in Gaza,” he tweeted Tuesday afternoon.

When subsequently asked how he’ll ensure that the money “won’t end up in Hamas’ hands,” he responded by vowing to closely “track” how the funds are spent.

Interestingly, critics responded to the posts by complaining that the medical authorities in Gaza need money far more than the authorities in Israel.

“I don’t think it’s hospitals in Israel that need resources. Gaza is the one with no fuel and overwhelmed with injured and mutilated bodies. Probably shouldn’t be 50/50,” one critic tweeted.

“99.9% of donations should go to Gaza if we’re being fair here,” another added.

Notice what one critic wrote: “[I] get you’re trying to backtrack and make up for what you said last week.”

Critics believe Musk’s sudden generosity is motivated by an attempt to appease the Jewish critics he’d offended with his tweets a week earlier.

Last week, Musk liked an allegedly antisemitic post that accused Jewish powerbrokers like the Anti-Defamation League of tolerating and promoting anti-white hatred.

“You have said the actual truth. … The ADL unjustly attacks the majority of the West, despite the majority of the West supporting the Jewish people and Israel. This is because they cannot, by their own tenets, criticize the minority groups who are their primary threat,” he wrote in response to the controversial tweet.

“It is not right and it needs to stop,” he added.

The tweets prompted massive backlash, including even from the Biden White House.

“We condemn this abhorrent promotion of antisemitic and racist hate in the strongest terms, which runs against our core values as Americans,” the White House said in a statement Friday, referring to Musk’s tweets.

“It is unacceptable to repeat the hideous lie behind the most fatal act of antisemitism in American history at any time, let alone one month after the deadliest day for the Jewish people since the Holocaust,” the White House added.

The great irony, as previously reported, is that on the same day the White House slammed Musk, Anti-Defamation League CEO Jonathan Greenblatt praised Musk for his efforts in “fighting hate,” including anti-Semitism, on X.
