Elon Musk ups security, says Trump-hating media ‘actively encouraging’ his assassination

Billionaire Elon Musk had an assassination target placed on his back over the weekend as a media outlet branded him “Public Enemy No. 2” for his support of former President Trump.

The SpaceX CEO is blaming the “legacy mainstream media” after left-wing German news outlet Der Spiegel basically declared open season on him. He’s accusing the media of “actively encouraging” unhinged individuals to assassinate both himself and Trump, a charge that’s very hard to argue against. In response to making the cover of Der Spiegel and being hailed as an enemy of the people, Musk is upping his security.

“Musk held a town hall discussion in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on Sunday in support of former President Donald Trump’s candidacy. While talking to the crowd, Musk commented on the heightened political atmosphere as the nation approached the November presidential election,” Fox News reported.

“He noted he was recently on the cover of Der Spiegel, which labeled him ‘Public Enemy No. 2’ – the first being Trump,” the media outlet noted.

“With their relentless hit pieces, legacy mainstream media are actively encouraging the assassination of @realDonaldTrump and now me,” Musk wrote to his followers on X.

After purchasing X and restoring free speech, yanking it from the clutches of leftist censors, Musk threw his support behind Trump who he believes is now the only hope of saving the Republic. For months he has been backing the former president and just recently he pledged to dole out $1 million a day to registered voters who sign a petition supporting a pro-Trump PAC.

On Sunday, Musk joined Republican Senate candidate David McCormick onstage in Pennsylvania, gifting a $1 million check to a woman in the audience who was selected at random. He also addressed his heightened concern of being assassinated.

“I’m like, enemy number 2 of what? Uh, democracy? I mean I’m pro-democracy. I’m literally trying to uphold the Constitution and ensure we have a free and fair election,” Musk stated receiving thunderous applause from an audience in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania over the weekend.

“I’m definitely upgrading my security. Guess I better cancel that open-car parade,” Musk quipped, referring to the 1963 assassination of President John F. Kennedy that journalists have previously joked about in connection with Trump.

“So, dramatically increasing my risk of being assassinated and engaging in politics are not what I want to do,” the charismatic CEO told the crowd. “I do not have a death wish, but the stakes are so high that I really feel I have no choice but to do it, and that’s that’s the reason.”

Musk commented that he was a “little shook” by the “level of vitriolic hatred on the left.”

“They claim they’re tolerant. And yet, they’re incredibly intolerant and spewing hate,” Musk remarked. “Whereas on the right I see people who tend to regard people on the left as, well, misguided. But they don’t hate them… but the amount of hate coming from the left is like, wow, next level.”

The hit piece in Der Spiegel features Musk’s and Trump’s faces combined. The meaning is clear and threatening. Under the headline, the magazine also said, “Elon Musk owns powerful companies, rockets, satellites, and Network X. Now, together with Donald Trump, he is targeting his greatest project: the undermining of liberal democracy.”

It appears the left is gunning for Musk globally as well as Trump.
