Elon Musk’s trans-child petitions to drop last name: ‘No longer wish to be related to my biological father in any way, shape or form’

Having reached the age of majority, one of billionaire CEO Elon Musk’s eldest sons has reportedly filed paperwork seeking distance from his father through a legal name change.

In 2004, Musk’s first wife, Canadian author Justine Wilson, gave birth to twin boys Xavier and Griffin. Eighteen years later, Xavier now identifies as a woman and filed paperwork on April 18 at the Santa Monica branch of the Superior Court of California in Los Angeles County so as not to be related to Musk in “any way, shape or form.”

According to the entertainment site TMZ, Xavier wants to be known as Vivian Jenna Wilson in his petition for a change of name and recognition of a change of gender. A redacted image of a court document said to be Xavier’s petition circulated the internet over the weekend.

In the filing, Xavier was reported to have written his reason for the name change as, “Gender identity and the fact that I no longer live with or wish to be related to my biological father in any way, shape or form.” Musk had maintained joint custody with Wilson since their marriage ended in 2008, according to the Daily Mail.

The documents also “declare under penalty of perjury under the laws of the state of California that the request for a change in gender to female is to conform my legal gender to my gender identity and is not for any fraudulent purpose.”

TMZ went on to add that neither Musk nor his son had previously made public statements about their relationship or his transgender identity, but the entrepreneur has tweeted a number of times on transgender issues.

In addition to boasting about Tesla’s LGBTQ equality score, Musk has held firm to his opinion that pronouns are problematic.

More recently he reacted to The Daily Wire’s new documentary “What is a Woman?” created by Matt Walsh with a lament on the inherent inconsistencies in the argument from transgender activists.

“We are simultaneously being told that gender differences do not exist and that genders are so profoundly different that irreversible surgery is the only option,” he wrote before adding, “Perhaps someone wiser than me can explain this dichotomy.”

Including Xavier and Griffin, Musk had fathered six children with his first wife Justine Wilson. Nevada, their first son, died at 10 weeks old from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome in 2002, the Mail reported. Following the birth of their twins, Wilson went on to have three more sons in 2006 with triplets Damian, Kai and Saxon.

The billionaire also had two children with singer Grimes. A son, X Æ A-Xii, and daughter, Exa Dark Sideræl.

On Father’s Day, Musk tweeted out a simple message that read, “I love all my kids so much.”

TMZ went on to report that the hearing on Xavier’s name change is set for Friday.
