‘Epsteined’ trends on social media as would-be Trump assassin jailed

Unlike Pennsylvania shooter Thomas Crooks, the would-be assassin who was preparing to kill former President Donald J. Trump before he was foiled was captured alive, but some are wondering if he’ll stay that way.

On Sunday afternoon as he was enjoying a round on the links at his South Florida golf club, the Republican nominee’s game was interrupted by gunfire after Secret Service agents spotted the sniper’s gun, sending 58-year-old Ryan Routh fleeing on I-95 where he was soon captured by authorities.

The suspect will face intense questioning in the coming days and weeks as investigators seek to get answers about his plan to shoot Trump and film the kill shot – he had a GoPro camera – but as the saying goes, “dead men tell no tales” and some X users speculated that Routh could end up like another infamous prisoner who never made it to trial, sending “Epsteined” trending on the platform.

The reference is to Jeffery Epstein, the fiendish sex trafficking financier, and reputed blackmailer, who was found dead in his cell in a maximum security federal prison in Manhattan in August 2019 after all of the security cameras mysteriously malfunctioned at the time of his alleged suicide, the official cause of death that skeptics remain unconvinced of.

And X users see something very similar in Routh’s future.

Many powerful people gravitated to Epstein who hosted politicians, business leaders, academics, and entertainers at Little Saint James, his private Caribbean island that was nicknamed “pedo island” and “orgy island” by the locals.

Among Epstein’s friends was former President Bill Clinton who took multiple trips onboard the deceased sex criminal’s private jet nicknamed the “Lolita Express” for the flying orgies that allegedly took place on the aircraft.

Epstein was silenced before he could spill his guts, and many expect the same thing could happen to the latest Trump shooter to prevent him from singing.
