A Senate hopeful’s “ridiculous” claim about federal law enforcement and deportations earned a reality check-filled comeback from border czar Tom Homan.

The globalist mission of the left has seen favor for open borders and opposition to deportations coincide with the expansion of Marxist influence in the Democratic Party. As the incendiary Senate nominee for Florida, state Rep. Angie Nixon (D) hurled her latest allegations, accusing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) of intent to profile black people, Homan brought facts and receipts on the actual threat to communities.
Over the weekend, the Trump administration official appeared on “Saturday in America” with Fox News host Kayleigh McEnany, where he was presented with a clip of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) member on the “Miami Community Newspapers Podcast.” During the interview, Nixon insisted, “We’re black. They gonna profile us too.”
“They can’t tell the difference between an African-American or, you know, a black American that is a descendant of slaves here in this country, or someone from Jamaica or Nigeria. Like, they are going to racially profile us, and they are going to escalate things and they are going to shoot and kill us,” she went on, having previously claimed Republicans are “literally trying to kill us” and that ICE is a “paramilitary force that is designed to terrorize us.”
In response to the clip, Homan told McEnany, “That’s a ridiculous statement. Look, we don’t racially profile. Everybody we talk to, we have reasonable suspicion of aliens to talk to them. And to arrest them, we need probable cause. That’s what the law says, and that’s what we do. We don’t arrest people based on the color of their skin.”
“I’m actually an equal opportunity deporter. I deported people to 180 countries last year,” he continued. “So, I don’t care if you’re from Asia, you’re from Europe, or you’re from other countries. If you’re in the country illegally, you’ll be deported, regardless of the color of your skin.”
When the host brought up a story about a recent arrest in Florida where a Cuban national was alleged to have committed arson in her kitchen and abused her own children with hot wax, Homan reminded about the importance of local jurisdictions cooperating with detainers so ICE agents don’t have to make as many apprehensions in communities.
“So, what sanctuary cities do is not only protect — give sanctuary to criminals, it makes the community less safe because they’re releasing public safety threats back into the public, and they don’t have to. It puts our officers at greater risk. It puts the alien at greater risk ’cause anything can happen during a street arrest,” the official explained. “So, this is why we’re flooding the zone. This is why we’re concentrating most of our resources in sanctuary cities, because we have to go into the community to find people we should have gotten in jail.”
McEnany also raised guidance that had been released by the U.K. Home Office for so-called asylum seekers who need to be educated that women have rights and that rape is a crime. Asked if he worries the same could be required in the United States, Homan replied, “Not while President Trump is president.”
