The Secret Service finds itself the target of uncomplimentary media coverage after the detail protecting Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff was seen blocking access to handicap-designated parking while the husband of Vice President Kamala Harris was shopping.

The incident took place on Wednesday outside a Whole Foods in Los Angeles, and Emhoff’s two-vehicle motorcade can be seen on video blocking the parking space designated for people with disabilities.
The two black Chevrolet Suburbans bearing Department of Homeland Security license plates blocked the parking for about 20 minutes, the Daily Mail reported, citing a witness.
Emhoff is seen below exiting the store carrying bags in both hands and getting into one of the vehicles:
The second gentleman was casually dressed in a navy polo shirt, grey shorts, and white sneakers and also picked up dry-cleaning from a nearby shop, according to the British tabloid. The Secret Service agents in his detail were just as casual to include a female agent with long black hair. Her hair appeared to be held away from her face with braids and flowed loosely down her back as it blew in the wind.
The Daily Mail noted that it was unclear whether Emhoff’s protective detail decided to block the accessible parking space at Whole Foods for security reasons.
“Due to the need to maintain operational security, the U.S. Secret Service does not comment on the means or methods used to conduct our protective operations,” a Secret Service spokesman told the newspaper.
