Eventbrite wipes event featuring detransitioner Chloe Cole denouncing child mutilations, tags it as ‘hateful’

Outrage is quickly brewing against Eventbrite over its decision to deplatform famous detransitioner Chloe Cole.

On Nov. 6th, Cole is scheduled to deliver a speech about “fighting the irreversible harm of mutilating minors” at the First Baptist North Spartanburg church in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

The event is being hosted by the Palmetto Family Council, a conservative Christian nonprofit.

The nonprofit had been using Eventbrite — a website for advertising events — to get the message out. That all changed on Sept. 29th, when the Palmetto Family Council received an email from Eventbrite saying the platform would no longer feature the event because of Cole’s allegedly “hateful” views.

“We have determined that your event is not permitted on the Eventbrite platform as it violates our Community Guidelines and Terms of Service, specifically our police on Hateful, Dangerous, or Violent Content and Events. As a result, your event has been unpublished,” the email read.

Cole herself was not pleased by this development.

“Eventbrite has been carrying water for child mutilation agendas and silencing the voices of detransitioners for as long as we’ve been speaking out about our experiences,” she tweeted.

The Palmetto Family Council has for its part accused EventBrite of censoring them “for taking a stand against the LGBTQ+ progressive agenda.”

Many, many, many critics of Eventbrite vociferously agree.

Notice what one critic wrote: “You support the mutilation of children and cancel victims of this abuse from warning others.”

The latter portion of the tweet was a reference to Cole, who herself is a victim of child genital mutilation, as she previously explained in testimony to Congress back in July.

“I used to believe that I was born the wrong body, and the adults in my life whom I trusted affirmed my belief and this caused me lifelong, irreversible harm. I speak to you today as a victim of one of the biggest medical scandals in the history of the United States of America,” her testimony began.

“I speak to you in the hope that you will have the courage to bring the scandal to an end and ensure that other vulnerable teenagers, children, and young adults don’t go through what I went through,” she continued.

Cole went on to describe how she began to experience symptoms of gender dysphoria at the age of 12 and how her parents affirmed her feelings and took her to a doctor. She noted at this point that she doesn’t blame her parents for her misfortune — she blames the doctors.

“The gender specialist I was taken to see told my parents that I need to be put on puberty-blocking drugs right away. They asked my parents a simple question: Would you rather have a dead daughter or a living transgender son? The choice was enough for my parents to let their guard down, and in retrospect, I can’t blame them,” she said.

“This is the moment that we all became victims of so-called gender-affirming care. I was-fast tracked onto puberty blockers and then testosterone. The resulting menopausal-like hot flashes made focusing on school impossible. I still get joint pains and weird pops in my back, but they were far worse when I was on the blockers,” she added.

Soon after, she began testosterone treatments that — sadly — “permanently masculized” much of her body.

“I look in the mirror sometimes, and I feel like a monster. I had a double mastectomy at 15. They tested my amputated breast for cancer, and I was cancer-free, of course. I was perfectly healthy. There was nothing wrong with my still developing body or my breasts other than that, as an insecure teenage girl, I felt awkward about it,” she said.

“After my breasts were taken away from me, the tissue was incinerated. Before I was able to legally drive, I had a huge part of my future womanhood taken from me. I will never be able to breastfeed. I struggled to look at myself in the mirror at times. I still struggle to this day with sexual dysfunction, and I have massive scars across my chest,” she added.
