Even to many Democrats, it’s pretty much understood that Joe Biden made a massive blunder in tabbing Kamala Harris as his running mate and a new book dishes what it alleges is an inside scoop on the gory details.
In “Amateur Hour: Kamala Harris in the White House” which hits bookshelves on Tuesday, veteran D.C. journalist Charlie Spiering paints a stunning picture of how the inexperienced California senator ended up being just “a brain stroke away from the presidency,” and how she brought tumult to the Biden administration.
Thrilled to announce my new book!

According to Spiering, Biden knows that Harris is “not up to the job” and she wasn’t the first choice of either the career politician or his wife, future First Lady Jill Biden.
Mrs. Biden is said to have preferred former Obama national security adviser Susan Rice for the bottom spot on the ticket and was furious about Harris’s insinuation that her husband was a racist during an early Democrat debate.
Jill Biden “fumed to close supporters after a bitter Democratic primary debate that the California senator should “go f—” herself,” according to excerpts of the book published by the New York Post.
The former vice president’s top pick was reportedly Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer who would go on to be one of the nation’s most tyrannical Democrat leaders during the height of the COVID crisis.
According to the author, Harris “seized the opportunity to boost her profile” during the violent race riots that erupted after the death of career criminal and drug addict George Floyd who perished while resisting arrest by Minneapolis cops on Memorial Day 2020, with Whitmer lobbying for her in the wake of the national mayhem.
According to the book, Biden reportedly “called her and urged her to remain in the mix as he weighed his options,” regarding Whitmer who would go on to become the Wolverine State lockdown queen.
“As Biden remained indecisive, a key Harris ally tried to reassure him about the idea of Vice President Harris: his former boss, President Barack Obama, who was already a fan,” according to the book.
“Behind the scenes, Obama patiently reminded Biden to let go of the past when making his decision. One of Obama’s political advisors [sic] assured me the former president held off endorsing her entirely, making sure that the choice would be Biden’s to make,” Spiering wrote.
Being a man who once held the vice presidency, Biden knew that the fledgling senator “lacked” the skills as far as politics but still made “one of the most pandering decisions of any vice-presidential picks in modern history,” Spiering said, according to the New York Post.
Other juicy tidbits are revealed in more excerpts featured by the Daily Mail, including Harris’s alleged foul-mouthed meltdown over the confirmation of conservative Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.
“Harris was determined to make an impact, as she was still largely unknown outside California. It was her chance to make a bigger name for herself. Harris took a lot of swings but ended up striking out,” writes the author of her grilling of the judge during the confirmation hearings when the future veep stood out for her aggressiveness.
“People in the room recalled Harris cursing and dropping f-bombs, ordering around Senate staffers who did not even work for her,” Spiering writes of her reaction when the nomination moved forward. “Anyone who’s staff, get the f**k out of here!’ Harris yelled at staffers in the Senate anteroom after a particularly emotional moment during Senate hearings.”
It’s no understatement to say that Harris has been a dumpster fire in a pantsuit during her tenure as veep, cackling her way through her historic tenure as the nation’s first woman vice president of color and Spiering pulls no punches in his book which if even half of it is true, should have Americans on their knees praying for Biden’s continued health.
“Who is the real Kamala Harris? And how did she ascend to the second highest office in the country? Despite her limited experience in national politics and confusing professional history, there hasn’t been a comprehensive examination of Vice President Kamala Harris’s journey to the White House…until now. Find out how the San Francisco socialite turned politico fast-tracked her way onto the national stage, only to lose the faith of her base and her president,” the Amazon description of the book reads.
