The aftermath of vigilante “street justice” was caught on video Tuesday night after family members were said to have pursued and beat a Detroit man accused of raping a teenage girl that may have been his own daughter; “and it was just like he was in an MMA fight.”

Police arrived on scene Tuesday to find an unidentified man kneeling naked and beaten before a blood-soaked sidewalk surrounded by witnesses continuing to chastise him for his alleged crime. In the moments leading up to the video, the suspect was said to have raped a girl before her family chased him down and beat him.
As Fox 2 reported, police would not confirm the connection, but witnesses in the video provided by 7 Mile Radio could be heard accusing the suspect of sexually assaulting his own daughter.

Marc D’Andre, founder of the outlet, spoke with Fox 2 and said, “From what I heard, they stomped his top lip off. His mouth appeared to be very bloody and it was just like he was in an MMA fight.”
His site had reported, “Sources say the man…texted his 14 year old daughter and asked her to go to bed and get some rest. He then went in her bedroom and raped her. After he was done, he text he phone and asked her was she okay [sic].”
Carmen Witherspoon who witnessed the altercation told Fox 2, “He was on the ground. He managed to get up and he ran across the street, and he was on my property. He fell, he slipped, and fell. And that’s when they beat him some more.”
“It broke me down that a man would do that,” she expressed of the allegations.
Responding officers provided the suspect with shorts to clothe himself with before he was hauled away on a stretcher. D’Andre remarked of the beating, “I’m not mad at the way that it happened. Whether it be swift street justice or through the court systems or jail systems, I think we need to raise awareness about this type of situation because too often it gets swept under the rug, and we have a lot of victims–both girls and boys.”
Meanwhile, Fox 2 spoke with Detroit police Captain Rebecca McKay who referred to the victim when she called the incident, “Absolutely tragic. It really is. It is in affecting a young life, a family, and it’s going to definitely take time to heal.”
“Sexual assault is a real thing,” she added. “It occurs at all ages. I would just ask the parents, teachers, advisers, administrators, friends, family just always keep your eyes open. Listen if you see something, say something. Obviously, report any suspected abuse to the Detroit Police Department.”
The outlet went on to report that the suspect had a warrant out for his arrest over a non-fatal shooting, but witnesses also suggested Tuesday’s rape victim may not have been the first as they accused the suspect of also raping his 13-year-old niece.
Charges against the suspect had not been reported at the time of this posting, nor was it made apparent whether those who allegedly beat the suspect would face any penalty for their actions.
