Bats, coronaviruses and Fauci were at the center of a U.S. taxpayer-funded study conducted more than a year before COVID — at a lab in Montana.
Just in time for Halloween, a 2018 study connected to America’s most well-known mad scientist surfaced tying the National Institute of Health’s (NIH) Rocky Mountain Laboratories to the infamous Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV).
Published in the journal Viruses, research conducted at the Montana facility, overseen by then-director of the National Institutes of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) Dr. Anthony Fauci, was authored by researchers along with known WIV collaborator from the University of North Carolina, Ralph Baric.
At the lab, 12 Egyptian fruit bats that had been obtained from the Catoctin Wildlife Preserve (CWP) in Thurmont, Maryland, roughly 15 minutes away from Camp David, were said to have been infected with the “SARS-like WIV1-coronavirus” imported from the Chinese lab believed by many to be the source of a lab leak that triggered the global lockdowns in 2020.
Designating the CWP a “roadside” zoo, the Daily Mail reported “The study was first flagged by DRASTIC, a group of internet activists who investigate the origins of Covid-19 and the lab leak theory. The group White Coat Waste Project is now using the Freedom of Information Act to request more details about the experiment.”
Montana Rep. Matt Rosendale (R) reacted to the report on the study, that indicated four of the bats had been euthanized to harvest an array of organs and tissue samples “for virological and histopathological analyses,” and asserted, “Our government helped create the Wuhan flu, then shut the country down when it escaped from the lab! Fauci and his cohorts must be held accountable!”

The highlighted research came after Fauci recently published an editorial in Science Translational Medicine titled “What keeps me up at night” wherein he disclosed the “possibility of the emergence of a brand-new pathogen” was nightmare fuel.
“Despite the waning of the pandemic, we must not become complacent that the pandemic is behind us, because we have been surprised before by the emergence of new SARS-CoV-2 variants that have eluded the protection afforded by prior vaccination or infection,” he wrote, later emphasizing the need for supporting “scientific and public health buckets.”
“If not, many of us will be spending a lot of time awake in bed or having nightmares when asleep!” asserted Fauci.
Despite his own lasting denials of gain-of-function research, as the NIH continued the nomination process to replace retired Dr. Francis Collins with Dr. Monica Bertagnolli, White Coat Waste Project (WCW) shared some of her responses to Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul (R).
In response to his concerns on whether or not she would “support a ban on viral gain-of-function research funding by the NIH?” Bertagnolli had replied, “I am committed to working with Congress on all efforts to improve biosecurity policies and to enhance our pandemic preparedness.”
In other words, as WCW summarized, she maintained support for “gain-of-function & funding animal labs in China. She also refused to commit to improving oversight of foreign animal labs.”

The surfaced report renewed calls on social media for Fauci and others to be investigated and held accountable for any wrongdoing they might have committed, including allegedly providing false testimony to officials and their potential of being responsible for the deaths of millions.
