Faux tough guy Robert De Niro flubs his lines, claims he was secretly edited to remove anti-Trump content

Trump-hating actor Robert De Niro suffered an embarrassing moment during his remarks at the Gotham Independent Film Awards, appearing to be confused and claiming that his speech had been censored to remove his criticism of the 2024 GOP frontrunner.

The foul-mouthed faux tough guy who has made a career out of playing gangsters, most famously in his collaborations with Martin Scorsese, was speaking as his latest film with the legendary director, “Killers Of The Flower Moon” was being recognized, and since it’s De Niro, he wasn’t about to let an opportunity to bash the former president slip by.

Joined at the event by Scorsese and co-star and climate cult zealot Leonardo DiCaprio along with other actors from the 3-hour + Indian murder epic, the 80-year-old “Goodfellas” star was thrown off script when he flubbed his lines in the speech prior to his acceptance of the Gotham Historical Icon and Creator Tribute on behalf of the film.

“I just want to say one thing,” the Academy Award winner said. “The beginning of my speech was edited, cut out, I didn’t know about it. And I want to read it,” as the audience cheered.

De Niro then proceeded with his venomous, falsehood-riddled rant. “History isn’t history anymore. Truth is not truth. Even facts are being replaced by alternative facts, and driven by conspiracy theories and ugliness.”

“In Florida, young students are taught that slaves developed skills which could be applied for their personal benefit,” De Niro continued, repeating the big lie about Florida’s history teaching standards that was promoted by VP Kamala Harris. “The entertainment industry isn’t immune to this festering disease. The Duke, John Wayne, famously said of Native Americans, ‘I don’t feel we did wrong in taking this great country away from them. There were great numbers of people who needed new land and the Indians were selfishly trying to keep it for themselves.’”

After his cheap shot at the iconic American actor, he turned to Trump, “Lying has become just another tool in the charlatan’s arsenal. The former President lied to us more than 30,000 times during his four… years in office, and he’s keeping up the pace in his current campaign of retribution. But with all his lies, he can’t hide his soul.”

“He attacks the weak, destroys the gifts of nature and shows disrespect, for example, by using ‘Pocahontas’ as a slur. Filmmakers, on the other hand, strive — this is where I came in and I saw that they edited all that,” he added, referring to Trump’s nickname for faux Indian Elizabeth Warren, the shrill Democrat senator from Massachusetts who grossly exaggerated her Native American heritage to receive favorable treatment during her career in academia.

“So I’m gonna to say these things but to Apple and thank them all that,” the actor said as he brought his diatribe to a close. “Gotham, blah blah blah, Apple…but I don’t feel like thanking them at all for what they did. How dare they do that, actually. But now I will go to, accepting the award for ‘Killers of the Flower Moon,’” as he acknowledged DiCaprio, actress Lily Gladstone and his other co-stars in the historical epic.
