House Republicans are saying that the FBI has violated a subpoena, demanding that the agency turn over an alleged Biden “bribery” document because a “highly credible” whistleblower’s life could be put in danger if they are “unmasked” despite names in it being redacted.
“Just left meeting for House Oversight. The [FBI] is afraid their informant will be killed if unmasked, based on the info he has brought forward about the Biden family,” Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.) tweeted following a closed briefing by the FBI that was held for the committee.
Luna told Fox News in an interview that the FBI’s assertions were “alarming and scary.”
The informant approached House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-Ky.) and Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) in May with the information. The person claimed that the FBI was in possession of an FD-1023 form, dated June 30, 2020, that showed details concerning Biden, while serving as vice president, being involved in a $5 million bribery scheme with a foreign national in exchange for influence peddling.

In an interview Monday with Fox News host Sean Hannity, Comer described the informant as one of the bureau’s “most highly credible human sources,” and one that was paid a “substantial amount of money” by the FBI.
“He had been a part of the bureau for 13 years, dating back to the Obama administration,” Comer stated.

He noted that while the FBI’s FD-1023 form containing the allegations was dated in 2020, information in the document indicates the FBI may have been aware of the accusations as far back as 2017.
“This particular document was dated in 2020. But there are notes in the document that date back to 2017. We believe that this human source initially informed the FBI of the bribery scheme back in 2017. So my question to the FBI was, ‘What exactly have you done with this accusation?’” Comer asked.
“The vice president at the time, Joe Biden, was in the country, he was talking about foreign policy and then soon, soon afterwards, according to this highly credible, well-respected human source, then there was a bribe made, and it’s specifically detailed [in the] allegations that the bribe would be made In a way that would be very difficult to find that they would use various bank accounts and various shell companies,” he told Hannity.

“FBI officials confirmed that the unclassified FBI-generated record has not been disproven and is currently being used in an ongoing investigation,” Comer stated earlier on Monday, according to the New York Post.
In May, Comer subpoenaed the FBI’s FD-1023 document. Originally, the bureau refused to comply asserting that it was trying to protect sources and methods. Comer then threatened to hold FBI Director Christopher Wray in contempt of Congress if the “physical document” was not produced for the committee.
Monday, Comer announced that he will begin the process of holding Wray in contempt of Congress. He’s doing so even though the FBI allowed the committee to view the document while being briefed on it concerning Biden’s alleged involvement in the bribery scheme.

Comer and ranking member Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) were allowed by the FBI to review the bombshell accusations in the informant file at the Capitol.
The committee is set to hold a contempt hearing for Wray on Thursday according to Luna.
“We are going to be bringing the FBI Director in before Congress for contempt of Congress proceedings as he is still conniving to shelter the Biden administration from its own sickening corruption,” she told Fox News in an interview.

The FBI is claiming that the actions by the committee are unwarranted because the agency has “continually demonstrated its commitment to accommodate the committee’s request, including by producing the document in a reading room at the US Capitol.”
“We’re setting an example,” Comer said on Hannity’s show. “When we subpoena information, there’s a reason why and we expect to get that information. The House Oversight Committee was created to have oversight over the federal government.”
