FBI boss Wray warns about ‘complex, fast-moving’ threats to election this year

The FBI is facing mockery for again warning about threats to America’s elections ahead of the 2024 presidential election.

“The U.S. has confronted foreign malign influence threats in the past, but this election cycle, the U.S. will face more adversaries, moving at a faster pace, and enabled by new technology,” FBI Director Christopher Wray said Thursday at a national security conference, according to the Associated Press.

He added that generative artificial technology in particular has made it “easier for both more and less-sophisticated foreign adversaries to engage in malign influence.”

Critics were incensed because this is the same playbook that was utilized in the 2016 and 2020 presidential elections, as even the Associated Press admits.

“In 2016, Russian operatives sought to boost Republican Donald Trump’s election chances by stealing and leaking Democratic emails and by using a hidden but powerful social media campaign to sow discord among American voters,” according to the AP.

“In 2020, U.S. intelligence officials have said, Russian President Vladimir Putin authorized influence operations to denigrate Democrat Joe Biden and help Trump in that year’s election,” the AP’s supposed reporting continues.

Notice how all the “threats” mentioned by the AP were designed to hurt current President Joe Biden.

The AP conveniently forgot to mention the Hunter Biden laptop story that the entire media, in addition to big tech, censored before the 2020 election for Biden’s BENEFIT.

The AP also forgot to mention the numerous other ways in which Biden had and is benefitting thanks to actions taken by outside influences:

For example, the AP didn’t mention the Alfa Bank smear, which was a broad effort by Democrats to use Russian propaganda to smear former President Donald Trump.

“Hillary Clinton personally approved her campaign’s plans in fall 2016 to share information with a reporter about an uncorroborated alleged server backchannel between Donald Trump and a top Russian bank, her former campaign manager testified Friday in federal court,” CNN reported in 2022.

“Robby Mook said he attended a meeting with other senior campaign officials where they learned about strange cyberactivity that suggested a relationship between the Trump Organization and Alfa Bank, which is based in Moscow. The group decided to share the information with a reporter, and Mook subsequently ran that decision by Clinton herself,” according to CNN.

The story was, of course, false. The Alfa Bank smear was just one subset of the larger Russian collusion delusion hoax and conspiracy theory that was used for years to derail the Trump administration.

Clinton has also been linked to the other parts, namely the discredited Steele dossier that was paid for by both her 2016 campaign and the Democrat National Committee.

The AP mentioned none of this, nor does any of it appear to be a concern to the Biden FBI. Both entities seem to always, always, always only care about alleged “threats” that would harm the Democrats.

All this comes amid an Obama-appointed judge ruling that former Fox News and then later CBS News reporter Catherine Herridge MUST reveal her sources for an anti-Biden story or pay $800 per day.

This attack on the free press predictably isn’t being portrayed as a threat to democracy. Why might that be?
