FBI offers $50,000 reward for info on suspect who appeared to fire on ICE agents

U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli announced Friday that the FBI has issued a $50,000 award for information leading to the conviction of “an Unknown Subject who appeared to fire a pistol at Federal Law Enforcement Officers near Camarillo.”

Federal agents descended upon a marijuana farm near Camarillo, which is located just east of Los Angeles, detaining dozens of “farmworkers,” including 10 juveniles in the country illegally — eight of them unaccompanied, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Rodney Scott.

During Thursday’s action, protesters began clashing with law enforcement. Tear gas was deployed to keep the crowd at bay, and at one point, a protester appeared to fire on the agents, according to footage taken by ABC 7.

Given the FBI’s actions in response to the Jan. 6 protest at the U.S. Capitol, will the bureau leave no stone unturned in its pursuit of the alleged gunman? Facial recognition technology was employed to identify J6 protesters, and credit card and debit card transactions were analyzed.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection posted a statement saying the suspect “will face the full force of federal prosecution.”

“On July 10 at approximately 2:26 PM, an unknown individual appeared to fire a pistol at federal law enforcement officers. The FBI is offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to conviction. The incident occurred on Laguna Rd between Wood Rd and Las Posas Rd near Camarillo. Make no mistake: anyone who targets our agents will face the full force of federal prosecution,” the post said.
