Feds seized Ilhan Omar’s phone in D.C. raid as allegations mount

Federal authorities seized Rep. Ilhan Omar’s cellphone during a raid on her Washington, D.C., home on Monday.

The Minnesota Dem is under criminal investigation for fraud over allegations that her immigration paperwork was altered.

Omar became a naturalized citizen in 2000, but investigators are determining if the age listed on her application differs from her real birth date.

The DOJ issued roughly a dozen subpoenas as part of the probe and is questioning Omar’s family. The investigation is focusing on whether Omar’s late father, Nur Omar Mohamed, lied or manipulated immigration forms before he became a U.S. citizen, including Omar’s age.

Fox News Channel’s Jesse Watters covered the revelation and asked if the Somali-born Minnesota Rep. is even a citizen.

Watters also pointed out that Omar’s father was reportedly a colonel in Somalia’s “military dictatorship.”

Omar has denied the allegations and blasted the Trump administration for weaponizing law enforcement.

“For a decade, Donald Trump has relentlessly targeted Congresswoman Ilhan Omar with inflammatory rhetoric, repeatedly putting a target on her back,” Omar’s office said in a statement.

“Now, those attacks have escalated to a pointless federal raid. The Congresswoman has done nothing wrong. No president should be able to use the power of the federal government to intimidate his political enemies.”

In a separate federal probe of Omar, investigators are targeting shady financial disclosures that show a drop from $30 million to $100 thousand.
